Disable the Preview Player

exactly what i said, the preview player to me is just an annoying feature, it always seems to start playing for no reason when i'm trying to do a mix in my headphones.

maybe i'm just using the mouse to click and drag a track and accidentally click the preview button on the track, but i just want to disable the feature entirely so that this will never happen, especially in a live gig.

there's controls to keep a playing deck locked so that you can't accidentally load a track into a deck that's "on air". and i think that you need to be able to entirely disable preview player also so that you don't mess your mixing.

i find that i'm mixing between cue/mix in my headphones, then a ghost 3rd track starts playing, and i can't figure out where it's coming from, or how to get rid of it cause i have 3 seconds to make a mix.

very frustrating.

 

Go ahead and disable the preview player then...

Preferences > Browser (I think, haven't got Traktor open)

 

yeah, i don't think that closing the browser window for the preview player actually diables it, there's someone in the main forum who's done this and he still gets ghost preview tracks playing on his headphones. i get the same thing. i just want to disable it entirely, i never use it, to me it's a useless feature. if i wanna preview a track, i'll pop it into an empty deck just like any normal DJ would do.

cool concept, but i want the choice to turn it off completely and never have to worry about it.

 

Well, I got rid of the headphones icons too (right/ctrl click on the browser header, untick 'prelisten') - so I don't worry about the preview player at all, to be honest.

But that doesn't prevent the s4 to add a track to the preview player if you push the browser knob. I don't understand what you mean.




+1 the option to hide the preview player should also disable the linked functions mapped on the s4.

 

I'm having this same issue right know The browser encoder that controls the preview player(among other things) actually broke! I purchased an esp at the same time as the s4 so button replacement is free but not sure if that will cure the automatic preview play. If you find a fix please post

 

yeah, it's the browser encoder being pressed which is messing me up to be honest, i wish i could turn off that feature entirely. i'm way too used to pressing the browser encoder to SELECT a TRACK to LOAD or something, not activate a 3rd preview player which i'm then unsure of how to properly turn off, and it all gets a bit much when you're in the middle of mixing, and have 15 seconds to throw on another tune.

please an option to just take it out entirely.

 

NI are planning on opening up the default mapping a bit in the future. You would then be able to delete the preview player mapping.

 

Any news on how to disable it?

I messed around and could not get a full disable...
But I did get the attached tsi to only hold the preview when pushed, so that it does not get stuck playing in the background.
