I find myself hesitating to purchase another NI product (at least when they first arrive on the scene) cause of my past experience. I purchased Spektral Delay and had to wait for a patch before I could even use it and now its been a long long time since there's been any mention of refining it
and though the bugginess is lessened, I've migrated to OSX and have completely forgotten about it. I love the program and have in the past considered it a most valuable tool. I just have this underlying feeling of not trusting NI anymore. I bought a slew of their programs when they first came out (Reaktor, Absynth, FM7, Battery, B4 and Spektral Delay) all with a lot of excitement and hopefulness. I feel they are truly excellent "potentially" but the buginess and waiting have discouraged me from another purchase. I am very cautious now. The only two of the batch that I continue to use is Absynth and FM7 (can't wait til Reaktor is OSX!). Abysynth in particular is so well maintained and getting feedback on the yahoo newsgroups is very important to understanding that it has not been abandoned. I'm sorry to say this and me saying it probably doesn't matter to NI but I just saw that Vokator is coming out soon and I got all excited and then the memory set in, "Oh yeh, I better wait a year or two and read as much as I can before I jump in". Just thought I'd take the time to posts these thoughts for what they may be worth to NI. I really wish more software companies understood how better to communicate with its user base. It makes a huge difference. When the community sees (and they will know) that the company is responsive both in answering questions regarding releases and updates and in responding so that the consumer knows they're being heard, the trust factor flows and this is worth alot in terms of public image and subsequent sales I'm sure...
