Just got an email from DV247 saying B4II has been discontinued by NI.

Anyone else heard anything about this?

    Cheers

Maybe DV247 discontinued it or got something mixed up...?

Sorry to re-post from another forum, but see item 140341020866 on ebay right now, from Music-Matter.

Full retail boxed B4-II at £69 including VAT and postage.

I bought one yesterday afternoon - arrived here this morning. It says there are another four left right now....and no, I don't work for them :)

...but all the evidence seems to indicate that somebody is dumping old stock, ready for something new.

I bought Kore 2 last week from Digital Village and the sales guy said that Komplete 6 would be out in September and that these NI products were being discontinued:

    Massive
    Pro 53
    B4

Now... what he didn't know was whether these were being discontinued in favour of new versions of these products. But surely these are 3 of NI's best sellers, and I can't imagine them discontinuing them forever?

    Cheers

    Leon

Well, Massive is also integrated into Kore, so I no doubt it will be continued,
but I really hope, they don't discontinue Pro 53 (which actually has turned me
to NI awhile back ago) and B4 (or AP or any other product).

Imo it's still a shame, they discontinued Spectral Delay and Vocator in the past
(which were two good reasons for me to get Komplete 4 at that time),
this is something I really don't want to see with any company I bought a product from.

    My 2 cents,
    Cheers

I Think it will definitely be Massive 2, B4 III and maybe a new version of Pro53 or maybe they are going to scrap it.

    Lets wait and see.....

+1 for Vokator. Loved that thing. Can only assume sales were not strong enough to continue support, but it was one of my favourite ever plug-ins.

I think they are discontinuing AP as well, DV247 are also selling this ridiculously low. I reckon in Komplete 6 they would have B4 III and Massive 2, but would be nice to see AP2 and Pro54, and Reaktor 6 at a push.

Well, neither the B4 nor the Pro 53 are available in the shop today...

Couldn't find Elektrik Piano or Akoustik Piano either.

I sure hope they keep these working on the Mac OS upgrades (Snow Leopard and so on). I have many songs that use these plugins. I use Pro53 and B4 often.

I have been on board since Komplete 1 and many of the NI plugins I bought as stand alone products for hundreds a pop. I think it's crap when a manufacturer discontinues their software without at least replacing it with better versions.

Why dont they open source it and let users have a shot at it. Why dont they let users decide what they want in Komplete and have them vote.

Are they cutting products out of Komplete just to justify the lower price?

And what about all of the people that just bought the Kompletely Insane Version 5? Are 3 of their new products now discontinued?

It not like my hardware expires because the manufacture says they dont support it.
But if an OS breaks software you cant take it somewhere to get fixed.

I still think that Intakt was easier to get loop editing and slicing done in than Kontakt.
Vokator and Spektral delay were great Plugins as well.

But this is 3 instruments and I think this is wrong. They should announce that they wont be adding new features to these products but they will continue to make them work as is with new OS updates.

Well, at least now we know who was the "insane" part of the deal.

I learnt my lesson with K4: NEVER purchase a Komplete summer offer, or you'll drop good moneys for something that's about being discontinued.

There are some other Prophet 5 clones in the market like Arturia one so I could understand discontinuing Pro-53. But B4 II is the best in the market and there is no real substitute. Pretty surprised at NI's decision to discontinue it.

That said, if you already own B4/B4II, you can use it until you switch to a 64-bit host. Hope it runs OK on Snow Leopard...
