I'm having some issues with disk overload in Kontakt, especially when I'm using piano samples and the sustain pedal causes the voices to get pretty high. I'm running Kontakt off my internal hard drive and I have all my libraries on an external SSD. What's the solution here?

Which external SSD? Connected through what - USB2 , USB3, Thunderbolt?

    Also, which CPU?

I guess you are running a laptop? Try to set power profile to high not power saving mode.
And downloasd latest drivers manually from chipset manufacturer.

Yeah, I figured. I do have a good interface but I really do need to build myself a proper studio PC when I have the cash. Oddly enough, though, I can run Albion One with no serious issues but if I load up something like The Grandeur I start having problems.

Yeah that CPU is a bit on the weak side. Albion is likely not using as many voices in most cases as a piano library can, so this is the difference you see. More voices demand more CPU - I don't think the disk is being overloaded here, SSDs can cover a LOT of voices being played simultaneously... it's a matter of can CPU process them all in time. If it can't, you get dropouts.

Well, I guess I'm going to have to resort to freezing tracks then. Thanks!
