ive searched the forum and couldnt find anything about this...

when im not using maschine in a daw or standalone its two displays are on the left one with the logo and the right one saying to enter midi press shift and control.

is there anyway to turn these off when maschine isnt in use ?

Or get a dust cover for it. I realise that's not turning them off but it will help by keeping the dust off. :)

unplugging it is the way to go. even if the daemon is not running (nihardwareservice), the device is still powered, the displays are still powered.
    peace

USB sockets are renowned for becoming faulty due to constant plugging in and unplugging, usually dry joints on the solder connections or hairline cracks on the circuit board. A simple on off switch would have really helped.

It would have helped but they could still do it, I think. Obviously not a hardware switch though! Just if they could make it so that the CONTROL button toggled between Maschine mode and MIDI mode (as many people have already asked for) and then make SHIFT + CONTROL the on/off. Perhaps. Maybe. Something like that anyway.
