    Lo

Just bought the new traktor scratch pro, got it up and running just some dropout problems caused by latency...

Now when I play the decks, the sound comes out ok and i can control the track through the deck, but i get a weird calibration scope view....

    Anybody can help me out?

    Traktor Scratch Pro Audio 8
    Rodec MK2 2xTechnics MK1200 2xstanton needles

Umm... that screenshot looks like you're running Tractor Scratch (instead of the new Tractor Scratch Pro) - at least I haven't seen a calibration view like that anywhere on TSP.

Secondly; You might want to check out the input and output routings. The Audio8 sometimes (not sure if this happens always, so I'm playing it safe by saying "sometimes":) creates two instances of itself. On the other one, you get everything working, on the other one, you don't.

Just my two hundredths of a full single unit :p

I can only guess as to why your calibration looks so bad but here are a few of the things I can think of:

    - check that your red and white phono are going into the red and white multicore, also that you're audio 8 has all wire connections matching their respective colour
    - check that the phono leads on your techs are still good (I had a pair of used techs that were almost completely worn and got a horrible signal)
    - check that the audio 8 is set to vinyl (another stupid mistake I've made in the past)
    - check that your carts are good
    - check that the carts are installed properly and that all the 4 connecters to the headshell are in tact (I severed 1 connector installing an old pair of carts and got a really bad signal)
    - check that the vinyl is good and not warped or cue burned (I cue burned my original pair being stupid with the needle and again got a fuzzy signal)
    - check that your carts are not making contact with the vinyl (only the stylus should) and that your tonearm is set proper (I had more problems with Traktor from poor tonearm setup than the software itself!)
    - check that the headshell is properly mounted on the tonearm and that the contacts are clean
    - check that your counterweight isn't set to some ridiculous amount causing the cart to contact the vinyl

that's all I can think of from experience and my own dumb mistakes. hope this helps.

    cheers

    Thx

Is it really necessary to hook up the phono rca into the mixer?
I only hooked up the line rca into the mixer and the connectors of the deck into the deck rca cables...

Cuz ive been told that that is only used when playing with real vinyl instead of control vinyl?

    True?

The calibration is a problem with your input (the phono from the techs to the Audio 8) so you can connect as much or as little as you want to the mixer and it won't effect your calibration. If you are only using timecode and no other vinyl then all you will need is the line out to your mixer.
