has NI ever acknowledged or explained the change in the drive/distortion from B4 to B4 II?

It really drives me crazy that it's so broken.

    Hey blastula,
you're correct. The drive/distortion in B4ll is awful. The original B4 sounded much much better.

I had to take the time and recall every B4ll preset in the library and turn off the Drive on every preset.

In order to get a distorted sound, I end up bussing B4ll to an amp simulator such as such as Eleven or AmpFarm It's more work to set this up, but it does improve the sound.

This problem needs to addressed and fixed.

Yeah ... I really would like to use B4 II because of the many new features but the drive/distortion is just unusable.

I gig with B4 running standalone on a notebook - and I record/write with it as a plugin in Sonar.

If I were to use B4 II with the distortion turned off on all patches and then bussing it to an amp simulator, would I need to also turn off the leslie on all patches and then run a Leslie plugin after the amp simulator? Or does it sound right with the leslie effect going through the amp sim?

Can this be setup as a chain in Kore with B4 II first (drive and rotator off) then an overdrive and finally a rotator?

Is there a rotator plugin as good as the one in B4? Or would I run a second instance of B4 just for the leslie.

Anyone have this worked out? It sure doesn't make sense that NI wouldn't just put the old overdrive in the new B4 II. How can they possibly think the new one sounds better?

Damn, I like that drive XD

On the other hand, GSi VB3 is better overall.
