I just recently uploaded to Reaktor 3.05 from Reaktor 2.3 However in the new version serious digital distortion occurs constantly with all ensembles, even though the CPU load is really low. I have a G4 Mac with 400Mhz, 700Mb Ram, MacOS 9.2.2 through the Digidesign Digi 001 system. All other sounds from other applications come out fine so this must be a problem in the Reaktor itself and its compatibility with the 001. Has anyone experienced anything similar? The old verion worked just fine.

    Thank you for your help,

    I have used R3.05 for months on my G4 400 and Titanium G4 667 both OS 9.22

it as a sampler so there may be a certain type of environment I am not
    creating where the distortion lies.

Are you using ASIO Digidesign Direct IO as the driver?
I find Reaktor works best through ASIO.

Try not using the 001 for output.

    Trash the Reaktor prefs.

    good luck,

I have a similar setup and I get the distortion whenever I playback at a sampling rate that's any higher than 22khz. I have a G4 833MHz with 1gig ram with audio going through my digi-001. Is my Mac not powerful enough? Any help would be appreciated.

    hello,
exactly the same for me - G4 867 mhz, digi 001, just distortion when playing back samples at more than 22khz ... interesting thing I found out: it seems like it has something to do with the graphic response or whatever - when I click and hold on any menu or so the distortion is gone (even with high sample rates) for as long as I hold the mouse button down ... did you guys come up with a solution in the meantime? any help is greatly appreciated
    thanks

I had the same problem with both 2.33 and 3.0

When I swapped sampling rates around a bit sometimes it would correct itsself.

As a VST it was usually fine though. Sometimes it would distort and I'd have to reset my devices from Cubase to correct the problem.

I have a sneaking suspicion that its an ASIO problem. I can't remember having the problem whne I wasn't running Reaktor Via ASIO.
But of course the latency is unnaceptable then.
