Wooo, headphones came in today! I also got an extra pair of headphones for the shipping mix up which came at a perfect time as well.

The HD25's are smaller than I anticipated but holy crap do they ever isolate. WOW!

Awesome. Yeah i figured they would be a bit smaller than your used to but the quality means they can be, they isolate really really well.

Well first stage of my mod is in place.
I have absolutley no idea where this is gonna go but its a start in a small way.
TechFlex is a clamped a little to hard so i may re-do it seeing as ive got 25ft of it !
Just gotta get the heatshrink for the end.

@Ras you definitely used 3/8 heatshrink. Think ive found it in white? Might be a goer.
And er... what do you do with it

3/8 heat shrink tubing slid down the headphone end over the techflex to the phono plug. I used about 1" with 1/2 over the techflex and 1/2 over the phonoplug.
I ended up cutting 3 lengths of techflex until it was perfect and I burned through one when shrinking the tubing.
White will look great! I need to find my old Traktor Scratch stickers. I don't remember where I put them when I moved my gear.

I have a small propane soldering iron that blows hot air (much like me.)
A good hair dryer might get hot enough. Or, be very careful with a propane torch or lighter.

hey guys, karlos santos just recommended i come check this thread out from DJTT. i just got my hd25s in the mail last night and already i'm wanting to take them apart and paint them up. so my question is.. what kinda paint should i use on the plastic parts? acrylic paint? oil-based? sharpie markers?

i'm guessing if i wanted to color the foam parts that i would need a different kind of paint. any tips?

i'm not worried about it looking homemade, as my art skills are severely lacking. just looking to spruce them up a little without dropping cash on a custom pro job (although all the ones posted on this thread looking really really slick)

Well honestly, the reason I went the custom route is because it cost me less then getting them customized along with the headphones than ordering them stock in my area.

Also, because they were late I got an extra set of phones which came at a great time so those will be my away from home production cans for beatmaking and listening sessions.

These headphones are frigging amazing. They don't hurt your ears and the bass, MY LORD!

I opt for NI to run a limited edition Traktor and NI themed pair.

Thanks man, my company colors are Black, White, and Silver or Grey.

That's why you see that color coding in most of my pics.
