    So......

Is no one going to speak up about how once again, we are left behind with Pioneer's new DJM S-11?

Searching for usable Midi-Mappings, here we go

Oh. and since we have a lack of an actual Vertical Parallel waveform, no screen use off this new toy either....yay

Why don’t you buy it? Serato comes free and fully mapped and featured.

Ni mentioned they want traktor to work with what you have. Do you have it?

Mapping will take you few hours. The screen won't be usable though.

You must be a good midi mapper

Aren’t there midi pages available for use on the screen?

Hopefully NI will adopt this mixer

    [

It's not that difficult. It took me about two hours for basic mapping of the RANE Seventy and few more for fine tuning.

We must all sound like parrots lol

It would take NI a solid 3 days to fully map the mixer. It would take me 3 weeks 2hrs a day to fully map it. If you’re wondering why official mappings take long to release.

Serato has a template for mapping that manufacturers must follow in order for them to map efficiently. Traktor does not have a template for manufacturers to follow.

Yes you are. That’s why I said you must be a good midi mapper. Lol

This is crucial. Indeed all Serato Pioneer DDJs look the same in MIDI, and then they just customize.
    https://github.com/pestrela/ddj/tree/main/1 MIDI codes

At this time, the best for traktor is to do the same: simply adehere to the Serato standard, and customize.

That would be cool but it seems like every manufacturer wants to make serato controllers these days.

the deep answer to this particular question will shape the future of Traktor,
and of this particular division at Native Instruments.

I've looked at the S11 MIDI codes. These are my quick advice:

    differences to other DDJs:
    - most mixer, loops, FX etc buttons resemble SX2 -> use SX2 mapping as a base
    - pads are NOT sent different per pad mode -> put current mode in a modifier, all pad functions conditional to such modifier
    - screen: all screen buttons send and receive midi codes -> map them as usual
    - waveforms: not supported in midi

    S11 midi codes: https://github.com/pestrela/ddj/blob/main/1 MIDI codes/DJM-S11 - MIDI Message.pdf
    SX2 midi codes: https://github.com/pestrela/ddj/blob/main/1 MIDI codes/DDJ-SX2 - MIDI Messages.pdf
    S11 manual: https://github.com/pestrela/ddj/blob/main/4 Manuals/DJM-S11 - Full Manual.pdf

use CMDR for copy-paste and mass-changes:

    S7, anyone?

I’d hate to have that blank screen staring back at me on the S11 with Traktor...
