Hi, I'm looking at getting into Traktor Scratch using timecode vinyl. I decided to get the Z2 for its ease of use and price. However I saw yesterday Pioneer have the DJMT1, priced better than the Z2. My question is which would you prefer and why? I like the build quality and reliability that comes with Pioneer products, especially their mixers. However the Z2 appears to come with a better version of Traktor, plus it might be more compatible with all the features Traktor offers.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tom

    If you say so.

Despite my disdain for Pio products, I too considered getting the DJMT1, purely for economical reasons. However, after watching these two videos, it's apparent to me that if you wanted to go w' any mixer besides the Z2, you would do yourself a big favor by getting a 4 channel (w' Send/return) mixer & an Audio 6/8 instead.

As always I will say try to get your hands on each it's the best way to go about making a choice.

I will also add that the price difference between the two is only about $100 so I wouldn't let price factor in.

Check to see exactly what software comes with the Pioneer.
With the recent license change NI implemented it may qualify for a free upgrade

Think I'm going to go for the Z2, thanks. One more question, I already have a komplete audio 6 for production. My speakers only have one xlr each, is there some way to use the komplete audio 6 as my only interface for both producing and djing?

    Thanks

Can anyone confirm that the Z2 supports effects with analog source? I was looking at the DJM-T1 but I was told that if I was playing my standard vinyl I would not be able to process any effects (as they are only controlled through Traktor). Can the Z2 do this?

Apparently holding shift and pushing the traktor button engages live deck mode. This is supposed to allow you to use traktor effects on your vinyl, CDs. Don't know for sure, I read it in a review
