DMX lightshow

This could make Traktor very interesting. An add-on software + hardware-interface for producing DMX-lightshows. DJ and Lightsoftware all in one

Actually this might be a good idea to use the midi out to control the lights....

 

I had the same thought the other day... Traktor sends a midi sig out to the light bord to change lights or tap sync with the BPM... or hell even use traktor to set lihting cues for each song... (like the cue makers we already set in some songs).. Maybe NI can get up with one of the lighting control software companies and make some of there software that will read cues traktor puts out (like the cues thing i was just saying) by traktor and do it that way.

Then there was the stort of the 3 bears..............................

Hmm.. how would traktor know what song is being outputed to the speakers if your using an external mixer... you would need some kind of internal switch for the lights..

 

maybe using a midi mixer (like the one talked about in a diff thread... or a diff midi controller like alot of us use.. or a keyboard hot key that we can asign to switch between songs (b/c i have a few usb mini contollers with keypads on them that are mainly game tpye controllers but work well with traktor.. like the nostromo n 52 http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProd...Id=&Section_Id=2071&pcount=&Product_Id=157024

I have this product and have mapped the keyboard keys to its keys and the d-pad on it.. works realy well.. all i have to have in front of me is a mouse, monitor and this along with the tt and mixer. If anyone os looking for a nice little USB device to controll things in traktor.. this little beauty iis cheep and works well. You set your keyboard hot keys up in traktor.. then use this devices software to map out what keys on it you one to corispond to the keyboard keys.

Now if this could be implemented in Traktor, would it be a wonderful device? Just a thought...

 

I'd like to control the DMX light via Traktor MIDI Signal (i.e. "Master Tempo Tick" or "Deck Beat Tick".
In Midi "Learn" Mode the Hardware I tested by now does send a signature for *several* keys I press on the controller to Traktor!
On the opposite (thats what I want) the controllers don't respond to the keys send by traktor. Too bad, due to setting up the propper BPM in most of the songs took quite a bunch of work.

SO: does one of you know a DMX and MIDI (or what?) capable controller or interface/software that does the "STEP" corresponding to the Traktor Beat Tick?

Already tried two different DMX light controllers:
GLP LIGHT OPERATOR 24 (also named: Botex DC 1224)
and the (as I recognize largely buggy) Behringer LC2412 Eurolight

 

Nice idea.. I use DMX control software and open DMX interface for my small lighting rig.

Think we are definitely dreaming though. We are still waiting for some rather basic features to come about in traktor let alone DMX output. With how long it takes with traktor on average for each version with the small steps on each of them we are def dreaming with this idea.

 

Uhm - Traktor -as I suppose- already does have and send the proper MIDI signals. So do you know a software for the "open DMX" that can read Tracktors MIDI signals? Does "open DMX" have a MIDI input?
