i have got setup with a Denon X1600 running in USB-B mode & two S1200 decks running in PC mode with Tracktor pro

but the mapping files i have (standard Denon one and this traktorbible one) have the same MIDI commands for deck 1 and the FX Unit - for example:

    · Note.F#4 in S1200 = CUE and Note.F#4 = Button2 in FX Unit 1

    · Note.G4 in S1200 = PLAY and Note.G4 = Button3 in FX Unit 1

so when i am pressing PLAY on the S1200 it also triggers the FX Unit 2 button on/off, which could be the reverb FX (or whatever effect i have set it to)...

or when i press the KNOB3 in the MIDI section, it also triggers the PLAY button on Deck 1 so it pauses during my set!

there are several other conflicting mappings, but only for Deck 1 and the MIDI knobs that are attached to the FX unit.

i have downloaded the amazing CMDR mapping software and i can see both TSI files and see which MIDI Commands are using the same Notes but really have no idea how to re-map these so they don't conflict??

or whether it is possible that i can set up the Denon mixer or Traktor differently so it doesn't conflict ??

I would suggest to remove the unnecessary mapping from the PALY button. So the Play does not switch on the FX.

    OK thanks,

i tried that but it stopped the CD player from working!

so then i tried mapping all of the mixers MIDI commands to Channel 3 and this stopped the mixer from sending commands to TRAKTOR, but now i cant send MIDI commands from the mixer to TRAKTOR...

so i can now play without interruptions, but i cant take full advantage of the MIDI section of the mixer...

there must be something simple i am overlooking to solve this?

surely DENON would not have made its products to fight each other in TRAKTOR?

There is nothing Denon related here.
Even when You are with these devices on the same channel, You need to select IN/OUT Ports for each device for it's own mapping. If not all mappings will take all commands. That could be also the problem in Your case - check that.,

There’s a better mapping laying around here. But here’s an old YouTube video showing how to do it.

I think the problem is in midi IN/OUT port selection for each device...

yup, the penny has now dropped: each device on a different MIDI channel, not all on CH1 - ha ha!

I also had a dodgy USB hub mixed in, but very glad it is all running as it should now.

    thanks to all repliers!

    happy mixing :)

I made this video before I knew you didn’t have to change the channels. I think all that was required was to change the unit # and select deck focus and proper in/out ports. I condensed all the possible issues one might face when hooking up so only some pieces will apply to each individual.
