So I'm here finally glad I can say I'm a machine owner. Went through the long process of setting everything up. No sound can be heard from computer or headphones. Downloaded asio4all. I have an hp dv9000 4gb ram amd turion 64. Just really frustrated been waiting for it in the mail and cant even use it. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks in advance!

    You need an Audio Interface

i agree , but that shouldnt be the issue if u cant hear no sound at all .......
if u open up ur audio settings in maschine, what does it say ....
did u choose asio 4all as device there ?

if u needed a new comp , your sound would be laggy and distorted cause your processor cant handle the baby , but no audio at all sounnds like an audio setting problem to me ...

You need to set up your audio interface in the preferences.

If you've installed asio4all change it to ASIO4ALL in the audio settings

hmmm , it really says driver asio

    device asio4all ?

if so , it should be an issue in ur pc audio settings not maschines ...

try playing around with the asio4all settings. Its the little green with a triangle down near the clock in the bottom right corner of your desktop. Try changing to IDT High Defintion Audio CODEC and see what happens

I had a similar problem when i first installed ableton live

i got an hp like you and i use asio4all when i'am travelling

    a) so then i turn on maschine and go to the audio and midi settings menu and i hold asio4all there , then i go to routing page , output , it give me several choices .

    b) there i choose speaker 1 1 for the line maschine out 1 L
speaker 1 2 for the line maschine out 1 R , Done for maschine setup

second phase i clik on the IDT icon (the HP sound log thing interface open)

i click on reading page of that log and then on the side i clik the "speakers and to headphones" line

now it's time to check the down part of the IDT hp sound log page if the sound fader that correspond is pushed up and if the little point that turn the chanel to silent is off ... then i got the sound in the speakers ....

but the speakers ar not made for that and i more ofen change phase b) of my routine to put it to" hp out 3 1" and "hp out 3 2 "so know i have the sound of maschine in the haedphones and it's good

hope you'll hear your maschine soon ....

but usualy i use audio8dj and i'am happy to be home ;)
so the answer is you don't have to change of computer but the interface between the chair and the computer , probably .
    welcom' the club !
