Do I Need to Purchase Kontakt 6 Full Version?

I just purchased Sharine thinking I had the full version of Kontakt 6. Evidently, I have the Kontakt 6 player...see attached screenshot. Stupid question: do I purchase the Kontakt 6 update license, or do I need to shell out $400 for the full version?

 

That library needs the full version of kontakt, next time you should check on the website if it runs in kontakt player or not. You could wait for summer sale and buy a komplete upgrade pack at a discount, then you get a lot more for half that money if you are willing to spend it.

Don't do that - go to native website first then go to komplete 13, buy and select upgrade for selection. You have to be logged in then you'll see if you can upgrade, I guess you have a maschine but not a micro mk3, then you should get the komplete 13 package for 400 bugs. This way you'll get a lot more for your money. Lots of additional kontakt stuff and a ton of really good fx and synths and what not.

I really like that idea. My only problem is that I literally don't have the HD space to install Komplete. I have 300 GB available...apparently it's about 290 GB for the full download. I'll need to upgrade my HD I guess.

 

No problem, buy it, you don't have to install everything now. You can ad an external drive later and install libaries there.

Or like you said upgrade the internal HD, what computer do you use?

 

Nevermind. Just checked and you can't even upgrade the HD on this Macbook Pro.

 

Then you buy an external drive, here in the forum some use it and it runs, on mac you only have to use the correct format for kontakt. And you will loose nothing cause it costs the same!! And you get kontakt + a lot of stuff.

Well. Looks like I need to head over to Best Buy then. After looking I agree....Komplete is a far more superior investment for nearly the same price.

You only have to use hfs+ if you put the libaries on an external drive, and the drive should be fast.

Alone the fx are so great, then the full reaktor version opens up a whole new world - believe me you will love it.
