Does Anyone have any X1 first impressions?

What about Internal Mixing?

I know it takes a while to get products to market......and the Kontrol X1 seems great.

BUT

Are there any plans from NI to make their own Xone: DX / Xone: 4D(minus the analog mixer) type device with 4-channel internal mixing capability?

I really hate plugging a lot of stuff in, and I'm short on USB ports to give up two for full 4 deck control using TWO X1's (MAC users will agree).
I Prefer not to use a USB Hub for the sake of simplicity and setup speed.

I like to have something really Neat and tidy that works with Traktor like the X1 but has: internal 4-ch mixing, built-in soundcard, Solid build Quality, and throw in some jog wheels and some extra mappable faders/buttons/ knobs for good measure.

are you wanting the CC values when in native mode or midi mode?

 

Well I can't make any promises, but I can tell you that on the last "Traktor on the Record" Session - N.I. did announce that they would / that the users could expect more DJ-hardware/controllers to come by N.I.!

i am quite new to the Controller thing, as far as i can say the X1 kicks ass,
is it possible to merge your 2 TSI files into one? This would fit my needs perfectly

okay here goes. in midi mode, the CC value for the top left encoder is Ch01.CC.016.
the encoder below that is Ch.01CC.026

i reckon ive sorted it. in your map they are all Ch.04 but mine are all Ch.01

changed them and they are working but i will need to sort them as they are on the wrong side for my workflow.

how can i save a tsi and its only tiny instead of like 2.6mb?

 

finally exported my map for the browsing in midi mode for the X1.

Shift + Hotcue

Left upper - turn to flick through tree. push to expand/collapse tree

Left lower - browse playlist, tracks. push - selects track to deck A.

Right upper - turn to flick to playing track. push to open browser in full screen.

right lower - browse playlist, tracks. push - selects track to deck B.

i treid this and i couldnt get it to work.. do we just import it? ? i did that and it screwed my native settings

 

dont use the import from the bottom left hand side. you need to go;

add>new midi>add>import - then add the tsi. renmae it also as browse tsi or something so you dont get it confused.

add the ports to X1 also.

i went

settings --> control manager -->
under device manager --> add --> import..

i added the tsi and set in and out ports to all port.. still nothing

i must be missing something else here.. also its already called browse x1 - generic midi once i bring it in... any other pointers ? thanks!

 

are you pressing shift + hotcue to get to midi mode?

 

Good Job by boxocube, appreciate your time. I liked your .tsi so imported for myself and is working.

Only a change had to be made with the port settings to all ports for mine and it started mapping as mentioned.

yeah and the hotcue is going green... its my bad.. il have a look on youtube to see how to map midi tsi in trakor cause the manual is ****

 

walshy, see if you can actually map something like phil suggested to me in midi mode.

go to add new controller, put the X1 on midi mode, then add any old thing like load selected etc. do it for focus deck A (down the bottom right) then click learn and use one of the loop buttons to see what value you get?

 

i saw this in anoth post.. i dont think im in midi mode when i go to the settings.. il gitve at a go wen i go home

thanks boxocube for your reply, however i could not open the tsi file, so i used these instructions instead, worked brilliant.

 

finally got it sorted.. it was drivers.. when i installed the x1 the drivers weren't loaded properly.. it also messed with my a4 dj drivers.. even though both were still working, so to speak (since x1 wouldnt take the midi map) ...

soon as i reinstalled the drivers via device manager it everything fell into place.. liking the map!
