Does anyone know if you can now use midi effects in 2.0? Flux???

I think he's mistaking sowari's "does not necessarily mean" post as confirmation even though I don't think Sowari has indicated whether he's actually tried Maschine 2.0. So it's still all speculation until someone who actually tried it confirms it before Nov. 1st. My speculation based on the fact that Maschine 2.0 now has MIDI In/Out routing, is that using MIDI plugins that require sending/receiving MIDI should work in 2.0. We'll see.

Just use a plugin that has its own internal arp triggered with note on and off messages.

everybody just calm down, we'll meet by the pool when the update comes out and we'll see if we have muting, and midi fx that work like arps and everything we expect from this release, this is an exciting time though no doubt about it we are about to get everything we've been sorely missing just you wait and see it's almost here! Now that I know that there was a complete rewrite I understand why all of those things like being able to capture a performance and import midi and all of those basic things were omitted, it's kind of like before you move into a house you want to make sure the house is fixed up to the best of it's ability, gotta thank ni for doing that and with out too much longer to wait ni is about to drop a bomb on us!!!

While there is internal midi routing, unfortunately there is no support for midi out from plug-ins. This is needed for plug-in arps and sequencers to be routed to other sounds so it still isn't possible.

I'll be the one crying in the corner. :'(

Nah, it's a big update and i can easily drag and drop midi into the paino roll. With the midi in i bet it will work with virtual midi ports. Still not as elegant if midi can be sent to different channels it should work...

Hmm last i looked Cthulhu was a VST plug-in that route's MIDI data = will work in Maschine-uh 2.0 if internal routing is possible..

    If so, that's a bummer. :(

By the way, virtual MIDI routing is already supported for routing MIDI from sound to sound within Maschine standalone right now so you can do things like route different length patterns from one sound and group to another – like have a 12 beat pattern, a 14 beat pattern and an 8 beat pattern going to the same Reaktor drum machine, triggering different sounds.

MIDI fx plugins still won't work if Maschine doesn't support MIDI out from plugins.

Yeah but you can't record the midi can you? I had to use tonespace with it's midi i/o to receive and record to the destination track but as 2.0 has midi in it should be possible to trigger and record the midi i think.

Trust me we tried. The internal routing is for passing live input or Maschine's sequencer events from one sound to another but it does not deal with any hosted plug-in midi out.

It's not often i cry but...

It's weird not to have that with a rewrite, wonder why it's been left out and if it will be included in a future update. It would have been awesome for live performance and with unlimited groups and sounds and the midi import seems like NI missed a trick!

I'm curious if this is something that will never make it's way into maschine as it's not been part of the update. If i can load it into a slot and drag and drop chords to the piano roll that will be great or is that not possible?

It imports midi but not sure about the drag from internal plug-ins. Someone will have to try it.

I think this would be a great question for the upcoming On the Record.
