Hello, i am considering buying the z1, but i have one doubt, will it support snow leopard 10.6.8? website only says "Mac OS X 10.7 o 10.8", i use a late 2008 macbook so it would be a no go for me :(

Same problem here and I nearly asked the same question:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197156

Like Karlos Santos said: Traktor should be able to recorgnize the Z1 as a standard Midi Controller. So for us Snow Leopard Users with Traktor 2.6.0. or lower is no plug and play possible but we should be able to create our own mapping.

yes, that seems to be true I'm afraid. For plug and play you need TP 2.6.2, which is 10.7 and up. MIDI mapping should work, but I'm worried will be less reliable and with lower resolution on the controllers.

You won't see any difference with a user midi map than a default nhl mapping. Not with a simple controller like the Z1.

All my F1's, X1's are user mapped by me. I don't use any default mappings.

No different than dropping pre Windows7 support with 2.6.
Life moves on and so do operating systems, it happens.

You seem to confuse new with better, and i beg to differ but it IS different

Windows Xp was released in 2001
Snow Leopard was released in 2009

    @metanoia,

    OS X 10.7 is LION.
Your macbook late 2008 is able to run LION.
I got the info from the app Mactracker.

Yeah on a late Macbook 2008 (the white one) Lion would work. But its not recommend because Snow Leopard is much faster than Lion.

I have a mid-2007 macbook. It runs LION very smoothly! No problem what so ever. I did also made the upgrade to traktor 2.6.2. and also no problems in performance.

Hey I bought a Z1 and it's not even recognized by Traktor on Snow Leopard OS... can't even map it from scratch apparently...

I had to upgrade to Mountain Lion. The problem is solved and so far haven't had any big issue with the upgraded OS. There's no other way I'm afraid.

Wierd, I am just migrating to ML myself, and I had SL running (albeit with any earlier version of Traktor) when the Z1 came out, and it worked fine….

I had to upgrade to Mavericks to get LE working on my computer, but since then it's been fine.
