cause I didn't see a computer in the jeremy ellis video. so is this maschine on the go without the laptop or just a smaller version of maschine still needing the comuter?

No. In the video it is plugged in via USB. The back of the unit has a USB port and a Kensington lock.

I dunno, maschine isn't really that big in the first place and it's light as a heavy feather
what would be the point just folks who have extra small back packs or what I'm obviously missing something?

    Agree 100%

This is what Kore 2 has become!

Size of the Kore controller imo.

has not one little thing to do with kore. lol... not sure where that kinda talk comes in. I guess people still upset that kore is eventually going to stop getting updates... (but then I also don't get the whole "they broke kore" talk)
either way I look forward to the influx of new users that this controller will bring in. Lower price point = more users, more users= more incentive to expand features.

This is what the NI website sais about the MIKRO controller

MASCHINE MIKRO is the perfect entry into the world of MASCHINE, giving you tactile, hands-on control for beat production, sampling and performance. This latest addition to the family has the same powerful software and 6 GB+ sample library as its big brother, as well as the same responsive pads on a more compact and portable controller. MASCHINE MIKRO makes a perfect addition for any production setup - get hands-on with your rhythms and grooves both in the studio and on the stage.

Because they say "MASCHINE MIKRO makes a perfect addition for any production setup", I expect it will also be a perfect addition to maschine.

(but maybe it's only because I just gave a lecture "critical thinking" ) :)

It's clearly an entry-level Maschine. And the fact that you have to select which controller you are using in the Maschine software makes me think you can only use one controller at a time (at least with the current version).

The Mikro has MIDI mode too so we at least know that it can be used together with another Maschine controller at the same time for the same Maschine software that way.

a integratet mode will be much more usefull.
so you can change pattern on one controler and change scenes on the othe in the same time for example.
