Im planning on getting the Audio 6 with traktor scratch pro 2.5. i just have 2 question to ask i hope somebody can answer them.

    1) Traktor audio 6 - can i record audio that is not coming from the software. for example..when i record a mix.I have 2 deck running on Traktor and i have a cdj/keyboard/mic/etc.. that is running independently on the other channels of my mixer.. will that audio be recorded in traktor when i hit record and can i sample it as well?

    2) From what i know, the difference between the Audio 6 and the Audio 10 is that the A10 can play 4 decks and midi. Is there anything else special about the A10 that makes it stand out from the A6. I dont mind investing in the Audio10 if it will bring me future benefits. hahah :) i don't know much, pls educate..
i can still use 2 decks and 2 remix deck on the A6. Thats almost the same as playing 4 decks ;)

yea, I read couple of reviews/posts and notice quite a number of people complaining about the A6, everybody have some different problem..both with MAC and PC.. Maybe its setting problems..
but I have a friend that has it. No problem with his, maybe its luck?

i really hope NI get things fixed soon. Soldios, whats ur problem?

PS : Could anybody answer my questions? :)

    I can answer number 2:

it just has more inputs and outputs, meaning you can connect more channels externally (to your mixer). Converters and all else is the same afaik. So if you dont plan to work on 4 decks any time soon, you prolly don't need to throw more money away.

As for 1st question, not sure if I understand what you wanna do, record in which software? If you talking some else software next to traktor, since A6 has 3 stereo ins-outs , and you use only 2 with traktor, I think you should be able to route that third in to some recording software.

yes. I record my live sets using cool edit pro instead of traktor's built in recorder (I liek setting my record volume based on waveform distortion rather than a level meter) using my audio 10. The same should be true for the audio 6. In my opinion, buy a used audio 8 or a new audio 10. I have heard nothing but bad about the A6 whether it be latency issues, power issues, or issues with it flashing usb and not connecting to the pc.

That actually worries me completely as I was one step away from buying TA6 next week. Any links to back this up ?

There are a few threads on here and other various tech forms as well as personal issues. The company I originally purchased mine from was nice enough to let me trade my audio 6 back in plus a few bucks for an audio 10 whcih I have had no issues with.
