DP 5.11/ep 1.5

I realize that DP seems to be the most quirky DAW with NI, but I must report MONDO-BONDO cpu usage! I realize that it's probably a motu thing, but crickey! EP will tweak out with one authentic patch. Not so in live 6.0.7....it's about 15%ish there.....which should be right

do you have another host you can compare with? I'm trying to see if there is a difference with just me or in general.

I'm macintel, imac, motu traveler

 

forgot to add, this is with the new "authentic" patches......one of the suitcases should suffice in case I was not clear about that before.....

 

Not tried it with my mLan setup yet (which is a spikey CPU hog all on its own, anyway), but just on built in audio on my setup (not intel, and still DP 5.01), 1.5 is up about 5% OSX measured over 1.1 on standard patches, and another 5% with the 'authentics' that I've tried, but loses that extra 5% if I turn the 'room' to zero, which the notes say turns off the new convolution. Seems fairly even with normal chording at around 10-15 voices, but if I pedal and gliss I can get it to climb as much as 20% more (!) at around 30-35 voices.

Irritating. 1.5 does initially sound nicer though - haven't listened through my monitors yet.

 

You must go on OS 10.4.9. ?

 

I've got something wrong here,

ONE INSTANCE of ep with the authentic patch.........is about 70-80% cpu!

I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong, OR that these results are not reproducable.......

 

what I should also add is that I can run multiple GR2/FM8/B4II combinations without issue............
