DP3 can't see absynth

Help!! I'm sure this is all user error, but I just installed absynth and I can't get it to work with DP3. I've been unable to find any helpful information re: setup on the site. How do I use Absynth with DP3?

 

Make sure you have the absynth Mas plugin is in the MOTU folder in the plug-ins folder in your system extensions. Also make sure you have inter-application midi on in the freemidi set up. Also make sure you select MAS as the audio system with in Absynth. I would also recommend Audio ease VST Wrapper as it makes Absynth much more usable within DP

 

I've had a problem using the VST plugin route in DP3: when I come to reopen a file, the conrol panel of DP3 has disappeared, and as there's no way of closing it in DP, there's also no way of opening it. Anyone else come across this?

 

I could not get Absynth to work in any of the versions of the wrapper below 3. You will also have problems if you have a dual G4 you have to run in single processor mode.

 

Wait. Is that true? Absynth can't be used with MP Macs? Or is that a DP/Wrapper thing?

Absynth is not yet MP compatable as far as I know. I have a dual 450 which
is rock solid until I use Absynth. I could launch 3 Absynth plugins but the
fourth one crashed the machine every time. If I turned of the MP in DP ,it
is in the basics menu ,the system was again stable and I could use the
fourth plug-in. I have not been able to launch any more as the overhead is
to high, but I expect to be able to as soon as MP is supported. I have
mailed NI about the MP support and they told me it will be in the next
up-date. As far as I know there is no Problem with MP with the Wrapper.

 

DP 3.01-Absynth-OMS

I use Absynth in mas with OMS and it works great, my question is why use the VST with Wrapper? Is there suppose to be different?

I believe the advantage of using Absynth with VST wrapper is multiple instances - disadvantage is memory hogging.
