I tried to drag and drop midi in ableton, but with no succes

I create 1 track with maschine in it
Then I create another track, a midi track.
In this midi track, I set "midi out" to Maschine - Maschine 1
I create a pattenr in group A in Maschine, drag and drop the midi into Ableton
Then I play Ableton.... I have succes. The dropped midi is played in Maschine.
I delete the pattern in group A to be sure only the dropped midi notes, from ableton, are played.

    Problem 1
Now I add a drum kit in group B.
If I select a pad, the pads plays automatically, with all input from Ableton.
This is not what I want. I don't know how to change.
The problem: All midi notes that have been dragged and dropped to ableton from group A play the same selected pad...

    Problem 2
create a delay on the snare of group A and connect the "feedback button" to one of the 8 knobs on the group. (I don't know the right name for this... but I right click the "feedback knob" and select "group knob A".

I can record this in Ableton... I can even see it in my envelope in the arrangement session.

But: my problem is... when I play the track again, I don't hear something changing with the knob... the knob in maschine is not turning with the envelope
and there is no red dot next to the envelope parameter. It is grey.

Can anyone tell me what I do wrong?

set your groups in Maschine to "sounds to midi notes" then choose the midi channel you want that group to receive on.

without doing that, everything will be going to midi channel 1 on whatever sound you have chosen.

when you go into "group midi batch settings" and set the "sounds to midi notes" you will see an area for you to choose the channel.

the other part in this is...
how to record macro knob movements into live?

I will look again on the forum... and maybe I will create a new post.

I hope someone can help me on this.

I see the knob movements in my envelopes in ableton, but nothing happens when I play the track again

I have the same problem as de wouzer but in a different way. Im trying to drag the midi notes with sound into an Ableton midi channel. I have it set up to drag sound to midi notes on channel one. I drag it over and play. the midi signal plays but no sound. And I cant output sound it only says "midi to" being an ableton user I know you have to assign a sound or instrument to the channel to play sound but I thought this was a feature of maschine to do this with drag and drop. Any suggestions?

    Things I have tried:
    standalone mode
    vst mode
changing midi channels (when I change group channel all group channels change to that channel)
Used both sounds to midi channels, and sounds to midi notes.

I really dont want to assign a sound to the midi channel since that defeats the purpose of maschine.

i'm not quite sure what you're trying to do, but midi has no sound associated with it, so when you drag it into ableton you need to give it something to play. Thus, it needs to point to whatever you want the midi to trigger.

If you want it to play the sounds in Maschine then you need to point it to Maschine, you can't just drag the midi data over and expect sound, as it will have nothing to trigger.

If you just want the audio then drag the audio instead of the midi and it will work.

This is more what I was trying to do. What I want to do is adjust the velocity in ableton not in Maschine.

you'll need to point the midi back to Maschine in that case
