Drag N Drop

Please add this to AU/VST version.

 

Did you already tell your DAW software programmer that you want an open interface for drag and drop to and from plugins - or first ask Steinberg (VST) and Apple (AU). This might be the biggest problem for drag and drop. I mean HAL can track and drop from within Cubase, MachV from within Digital Performer etc.

Live 6 and Logic 7 Pro both are unable to detect a drop from either the finder or the arrange. Izotope/Glaresofts (Miss Art) iDrum and Phatmatik support Drag N Drop flawlessly in both DAWs so no don't blame the DAW. I wonder if there is anyone currently with an older version of kontakt or OSX where dragging and dropping either frmo the finder or squencer in Logic 7 actually works. I'd love to know the versions of Kontakt and OSX.

Well, drag and drop from the finder should work - does it not for Kontakt plugin? never had a plugin that allowed track and drop despite those exceptions. if logic really allows for that - then maybe NI multi-plugin development is a problem - do not know. It would be great indeed .....

No drag and drop most def. does not work using Kontakt as a plugin in either Logic 7/Live6 as VST or AU. I would LOVE some help if other people know how to fix this.

That is strange since I spoke to NI and they claim on OSX drag and drop from finder or another app (audiofinder/ phatmatik) should work fine. Anyone got drag and drop from finder to Kontakt 2's mapping editor working?

 

Drag and drop works find in standalone OSX. Doesn't work at all as a plugin in Logic. I haven't tested Live myself but I have no reason to question that it doesn't work.

It should work and I agree with sevaels, the DAW is not the problem.

You can drag ensembles into Reaktor when Reaktor is running as a plugin in Logic to load them.

So this is just laziness on NI's behalf. If they can do it in Reaktor they can do it in Kontakt.

 

FWIW, drag and drop does not work in Digital Performer either.
