On Win 7. Driver installs fine.

But when I go to Activate, it does not show up in Service Center. I uninstalled Service Center. Re-started Windows, Re-installed Driver.

And then I did a little rain dance for good measure.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've had this happen. What's the magic to make an installed plug 'appear' in the list?

    TIA.

    hi guys,

I've got the same problem on my mac today, download was fine, registration was fine, but I can't find an icon to click on to open the "driver"! Any helpful thoughts!

Kayokiel, you don't have the same problem as the others, since you were able to see the product in the Service Center application and the others were not. There is no icon for Driver because it does not run stand-alone, it can only be opened within a VST capable host.

I also could not register DRIVER.

I downloaded the FREE DRIVER plug in after I was offered the deal in an NI email (along with a 'voucher code, whatever the heck that means - I never needed a voucher code to download)

I installed it - I ran NI Service Center (which updated), and then found that 1) Nothing is active in the ACTIVATE tab, and 2) DRIVER is not present on the OVERVIEW tab listing. In other words - NI Service Center does NOT recognize DRIVER is installed - I have no means of entering the registration number I had received, and so I am stuck in DEMO mode, unable to activate and register the product.

I am pretty sure this was the gist of the original post ... I did send an email to NI-DE, but it's in English, and free products don't received 'support', according to the documentation I have read.

Has anybody figured it out yet ? .... It's worthless to me if I cannot register it.

    Thanks!

    ok, as far as you

told me now, I do have a different problem, but perhaps I do have another problem which is as simple as that, that I don'nt know HOW to use it!
you wrote that it is not a standalone product so I would need a host? Why is my logicPro9 not the host and/or if it is, why can;t I see it?
And WHO is able and willing to tell me HOW I can use this, probably, fantastic device, which I wil never find out cause I'm TO DUMB to make it run in my system?

I contacted NI and they tried a few things to get me going but when those failed they told me (paraphrase)...

"We do not provide support for free plug-ins."

    So that's that.

My current 'strategy' is to assume Driver (like previous plugs) will be included in the next 'Komplete' upgrade and when I pay for -that- I sure expect some answers.

What concerns me, from my o/p, is that this is the 3rd time I've had registration issues like this. The maddening thing is that my e-mail crashed over the summer and I lost my notes on how I 'fixed' it back then.

NI sent me a program to run which created a troubleshooting report. Apparently it didn't reveal anything. I disabled firewalls, A/V... no soap.

I understand it's a free product, but to -me- this is a Service Center issue and I -definitely- have paid for Service Center over the years. :D

Frankly, I wish they'd just go back to the dongle... there I said it. I know others disagree, but eLicenser and iLok have always been far more reliable.

I am totally new to all of this and I've had a nightmare from the start.

The odds seemed stacked against this windows 7, usb 3.0 with a realtek soundcard but I just need answers and direction.

I can get the program to do everything it's supposed to do, just not simultaneously :(

If the vinyl timecodes work then the sound doesn't play and if the sound plays then the vinyls do not work. Each depend on which 'audio device' i choose in the settings.

So close but yet so far.

Just installed the update for Solid EQ... which comes with an update for Service Center. And 'magically' after the new version of SC, Driver now 'magically' activates.

Here's my message: This is TERRIBLE customer service. It would've been much better if NI simply -acknowledged- a bug in SC when I had an issue. I can be patient. But just saying, 'We don't support free products' is crap. Just say, 'Yeah, we know. We're working on it... probably 3-6 months.' is a far more adult way to treat loyal customers.
