    Hey,

thanks for all these tips. Im getting lost in all these possibilitys :D . 5 ways to do the same thing basicaly but each with its benifits. I like this freedom... BUT

im too stupid to do above mentioned method. I have Maschine loaded as vst. Kick is routet to ext out 2 so im not hearing it in maschine.

What kind of channel do i have to create in cubase and what do i have to set as input?

And do i have to route it physicaly or will cubas notice that the vst has more than one output? Since i just have the audio 4 DJ soundcard it would just let me sidechain the kick for example.

    thanks in advance

After reading this thread I noticed that nobody mentioned the pendulum kits in maschine. The pendulum kits are great for making dnb breaks, as well there are many other great sounds in maschine that can be molded and manipulated to create some really awesome breaks. The trick is understanding what makes a dnb break.

The only flaw with maschine making dnb is the actual arranging and the ability to create a nasty reese bass or neurofunk synth.

As much as there are much needed improvements to be made with the maschine software, it is still possible to make some ass kicking dnb beats. Trust me I've whipped up a few. I'm just waiting on the implemtation of drag and drop midi regions in logic/protools to really make use of maschine. It's kind of pathetic, I've had maschine since last may and I'm still waiting to really incorporate it in my music.

Just to give you guys some more starting points besides the Pendulum kits - check out the Autopsy as well as the Dub Tao A Kit.
If you're looking for bass/lead sounds search for Reece Flavour, Havoc, Provoke and everything labeled SubBass within the Sounds.
Last not least the One Shots bank in the sample section should provide you with loads of additional Impacts, Metal and SFX sounds.

    Hope that helps.

dub tao kit is very good, you are spot on there Robert

and thanks for the hint of reece flavour, can't say I have hit that 1 yet - - then again, there is so much scope I doubt I will ever actually test all samples... this is a positive.

Sparksta - the factory kits are amaaaaaazing when you get stuck into them trust me. well worth the investment on time
