Drum Sampler

    I am new to Kontakt and am having some problems. I am trying to build a drum sampler for a kick. I got it to do one shot and random group cycles. That's all good. I have four hits per velocity ( hard, medium, soft, x soft). So I get the hard all set up and in different groups per hit. But when I add the medium it will not play the hard hit. I believe since I have all the groups on random it tries to use a medium hit at a velocity that it doesn't use. How can I get it to do random for hard hits only( v 127 - 121), random for medium hits only (v 120 -101) and so on. Please help me out! I know it is possible because I bought drum sample from Joey Sturgis and he got it to work.

    Put all the velocity layers in one group, for each round robin.

    I'm just doing cycle robin. And by velocity layers you mean each hit? I have my hard hits from (127-121), medium hits(120-101), Soft hits (100-81), Xsoft (80 - 0). Im sorry if i dont understand. Thanks for helping me! Can youPlease explain more?

    You have each of those hits in a separate group? Hard hits group, then hard hits round robins, medium hits, then their round robins, soft hits, then their round robins, etc?

    Just put ALL the velocity layers (hard, medium, soft, xsoft) in one group, for each layer of round robin. So, if you have, say, 4 round robins for each layer, instead of 16 groups, you will end up with 4 groups.

    Thanks! But how do I get the random hits now since I have all the hard hits in one group? If I still don't get it could i send you what i'm working on and you could fix it and send it back?

    You misunderstood me.

    First round-robin group: four velocity layers (hard 121-127, medium 101-120, soft 64-100, xsoft 0-64 or whatever)
    Second round-robin group: four velocity layers (hard, medium, soft, xsoft)
    etc.


    I can't fix it without all the samples - if you just send the NKI without samples, there will be no zones to be seen when I open the Mapping Editor.

    But ill have two more groups 3 and 4. And if i put them on round robin it will do different hits that are in that velocity?

    Is that right?
