drum samples for use in an ensemble

does anybody have any drum samples they've made that i could include in an ensemble? looking for whatever sounds you've got, so long as you made 'em yourself and give me permission to use them.

i've made a really great drum machine but i need to make some snaps for it that i can include for distribution.

i'll be releasing it next week.

 

it's possible to rip out samples from some factory ensembles and use them, plenty of fodder there. for example, gobox had a usable map.

seeing how you release your stuff on your blog, though, I'm not sure how legal would that be now.

also, you're damn productive! which is absolutely wonderful ^^

 

yeah i don't want to take anything like that, i think there could be issues... even though no sample are stored within the ensemble, they are stored as core arrays and i think somebody would have to be quite enterprising to get them back to wav files, they could still play back the data, which could be a breach of something or other.

trying to release one ensemble per week, have a decent backlog that frees me to keep working on new stuff, so i should be able to keep it up thru march at least.

All samples in freesound are CC, and almost all are free for non-comercial purposes, I think its what you need

 

You can use my samples from the Gonzzo map in AutoDrummer in the U/L. I have a lot more that I made that I can send, but most of them are pretty weird.

 

I have about 60 or so drum sounds that I did with Razor and my Clavia Micromodular that were fed through some guitar fx in some cases. V. electronic and in some cases quite distorted but you're welcome to use them. About 7megs worth. PM me and I can upload them somewhere for you.

Salamander, I have .wav banks of most drum machines in existence, and they are all copy right free. If you're interested, let me know via PM and I can send you something of your choice

to be clear i'm not looking to google or freesound this stuff, i'm looking for contributions from within the community. a lot of stuff that is copyright free is still not supposed to be re-distributed, also i'm not trying to to provide y'all with a bunch of stuff you could get yourselves with an internet search, looking for original content.

that said, micheal, i'd love anything you've got! i like FX and big snares and kicks, but i'm trying to make this pretty diverse sound-design wise so whatever you're feeling inspired to do would be great!

I like the idea of a user-made drum machine samples for salamander's new ensemble but for those who are interested in normal classic sample then Akai released a drum sample packed reaktor ensemble http://www.akaipro.com/lpd8reaktor just take the map out!

thanks, but i think i've reached a saturation point, and will just use the samples i have for now. i have probably a couple hundred samples from 4 people which should be plenty to make 10 snapshots. at some point i'll make a loop chopper, i'll hit you up then

i developed a system that allows you to actually store samples by snapshot so you're not limited to using one map for the entire ensemble. the downside is that loading samples is slightly more convoluted but i think it's worth it.
