Drum sounds don't trigger in Kontakt when I click on drum icons

Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't the drum sounds in Studio Drummer, Modern Drummer, 70s Drummer, etc. be triggered when I click on the icons in the main (right) window in Kontakt? Sounds are triggered normally when I use the virtual keyboard (and my MIDI keyboard) but not when I click on the drum images. I want this feature to work so I can create an accurate drum map in Reaper for the kit pieces. (I can't identify them all by ear.)

Make sure you have the speaker in the upper-left corner (where available) enabled.. Isn't the trigger note for each articulation shown somewhere? (It is for Modern Drums - on the control panel for each drum)

And,Studio Drummer has the drum mapping listed in the SD documentation (click the Info button on the Instrument's Library tab. That may be true for the others too.

Thanks. I can't see any speaker icon, so still can't hear sound when I click on the drums. I found the drum map in the documentation though.

I do not have SD, but this was in the Manual (section 3.1):

OK, yes I see this in Studio Drummer and when I click on it I do get the drum sounds from clicking on the drum images. However, this speaker icon doesn't show in Modern Drummer or 70s Drummer, and I do not get sounds there.

I'm using studio drummer and I don't have the speaker icon that is shown in that picture above.

Then you don't have the latest version of Studio Drummer. Check Service Center for an update.

How about my Modern Drummer and 70s Drummer not showing the speaker icon? Should I download latest versions too?

    Yes, obviously. :)

Check your Kontakt version while you're at it. Latest is 5.5.1.

OK, well I've run the update to all my libraries and installed, and I am using the latest version of Kontakt. I'm still not getting the speaker icon in the UI.

Are you using this within a host? Can you try standalone? If you're opening your old projects, they would point to the old NKR which contains old versions of scripts.

Thanks, EvilDragon. I do have the latest version of Kontakt. I happened to have updated everything last night, and I just checked Serive Center to see if there is anything else, but there is nothing. Do you have any other ideas? I appreciate your help.

(Also maybe you'd have some suggestions for this question of mine as well: https://www.native-instruments.com/...ultiple-outputs-question.260753/#post-1415378)

I just said above the only thing that comes to mind. Try standalone Kontakt, if it doesn't happen there, something didn't update correctly.

Can't help with your other thread, not a PT user. Otherwise I'd already posted there.

Actually, I downloaded and installed Kontakt from service center last night, but I just checked the standalone and it still says 5.4.3.307. I just tried updating again and it says I've installed it successfully, but Kontakt still says 5.4.3. Why would this be?

@stringtheorist Are you still unable to click the drum pictures and hear the sound? I just solved it on mine. On the Grooves/Options/Kit/Mixer tabs, go to options. There is a box that says "Kit View". Check "Trigger on Mouse Click". That worked for me in Studio Drummer. I still don't have the speaker icon, however, but I have the desired function.

That solved it, thanks. Strange that these libraries require a different operation to SD however, and that it isn't turned on by default.

I have a similar problem, when I click on the icons they don't sound. But when I click outside that window then they start to sound, i.e. If I start a groove using the SD interface on Sonar producer, it doesn't start unless I click outside the user interface. I don't have this problem with any other vst. Neither with a demo copy that I have of Sonar platinum. Any idea??

    Thanks

Regarding: Studio Drummer, AR Vintage, 50's, 70's ... I get "groove_display" within the GROOVE Midi TAB and the files will not "load" or play in the TAB, even though they show up in the GROOVE BROWSER. They are all in their appropriate midi folders within their respective Library folders. The same/similar thing happens when using RealiDrum ( a Kontakt Drum Instrument with similar midi groove functionality to the previously mentioned ). This has happened once before a couple years ago and I managed to fix it without a re-install of Kontakt - I didn't take good notes then unfortunately... After many failed remedy, I did finally re-install, only to be exactly as I were prior... Dang near zero links regarding this on Google or Bing...
Any help will get u a sammich gift card to the sub shop o yo choice :)

    Thankx T
