    Temper has multi core support and VST supprt. So if you load more than one VST instance of Reaktor they will get spread over the available cores.
    Temper is also available as VST (imagine a sequencer inside a sequencer :eek: ) then I'm not sure if you get multi core support.... ask at the Temper forum....

    Temper is available as fully functional non-expiring demo.... no reason not to try it.

    Yeh, I spent a while looking for a laptop that could be configured with XP: I'm not really interested in up-to-date software, and I've built up a list of tuning tips for XP over the years, so I thought I should jump in while there was a chance to get something speedy with an OS I knew how to streamline. Oh, and I'm happy to work at 44.1kHz too, obviously if you're writing pro soundtracks and you demand 96kHz, you'll need to be a bit patient with the machine.

    @ZooTook:

    Yeah, I have used Temper before. I was very, very impressed. I was quite active on the forum for a while before my hard drive packed up after I prodded it too much.

    I had a couple of timing issues with Temper (i.e. jerky playback) which Eric was unable to replicate. I expect I will try it again soon to see if I have the same problems again.

    @m3m:

    On the subject of 96kHz playback. Wouldn't it be wicked it Reaktor could do what Reason does, i.e. be able to mix down a recording of an ensemble in non-real time?

    You just load a MIDI file into Reaktor and tell it to mix the blighter down, and it just takes as long as it needs to to mix the track down without glitches.

    I know there's a feature request forum, but hey, I'm just speculating.

    this is easy if you just drop reaktor into a vst host, set the host to a super high sample rate, then bounce offline.

    Hi, i have no Laptop and dont want to pose with good numbers.
    I tell my specs to have more to compare.

    1st: Ghz are not everything, a big cache (2x 3072 kByte or more) on the CPU matters alot, too.

    My PC:
    Intel Core2DuoE8500(a bit overclocked), XP32, 4gb Ram, M-Audio 1010lt:
    16,2%-- 6ms in Reaktor stand-alone.(the test-ens)

    I have games on it, too...who cares.

    I also have optimized XP the most i could.
    Without eye-candy( i like my grey XP), Windows-sounds and maxed out for performance.

    When i want to play i deactivate my M-Audio card and activate the on-board-sound. :|

    I use the O&O clever-cache-control that free's me up to a half Gb Ram.
