duplicating scene

When I duplicate a scene it creates duplicate patterns.. is there a way to duplicate a scene without duplicating the patterns? other than manually doing it? Or maybe I'm doing something worng.

 

when you press the scene button, you'll see the duplicate button is lit up as well, if you press that while holding the scene button you'll be taken to a screen that has a "+pat" button. If that is highlighted, it will duplicate new patterns each time you duplicate the scene. If you un check that option, you'll get copies of the original patterns in each scene. However when you do it this way, every time you make changes to the patterns in one scene, it will affect the same patterns in other scenes.
