    1. There are a lot of patches out on the intertubes, some in .dx7 format. I can manually change the filenames of these to .syx, and then FM8 seems to import them just fine. But when there are so many .dx7 files, this can be a pain unless you have a utility on your computer to batch renaming. Since it just seems to be a matter of file extension filtering, it would be great if FM8 would also accept .dx7 files for import as well as .syx -- no additional functionality on this, just open up the filter to accept that extension.

    2. Because there are so many existing patches available, patch management is non-trivial in general in FM8. A useful refinement would be to allow an optional step of folder selection during import, so that all converted patches aren't dumped into the single folder "ConvertedSysEx". I would like to specify subfolders during import for example, but more flexibility would be nice.

    3. In FM8 today, when you do an Import SysEx, after importing, the ConvertedSysEx folder is not immediately updated if you already have it open -- you have to close it and reopen to refresh its visible contents. It would be good to see the imported file immediately without refreshing manually.

Loving FM8 here in general though!

    1. The DX's native format's .syx.
    2. ?
You can create your subfolders when you're importing. All of mine are in subfolders at least, and I don't remember creating and moving them after the fact.

Maybe a PC vs Mac thing, ew? I'm not seeing this on the Mac. I get yes/no confirmation dialog when importing to confirm the destination folder, but no option to change it. Hitting yes performs the (silent) import, and hitting no quits the entire import. No folder selection step.
