Of 2 people I have noticed.. Richie Hawtin and Chris Liebing have switched back to their 1D's after having X1's early on.

Liebing sights on twitter ".... they are nice, but not what I need. I stick to 1Ds........1Ds are more solid, got faders and a big jogwheel that i like to use a lot! that is a good workflow....."

Normally I don't give a **** what anyone is using for the specific purposes of following a lead.... but given that I can't get my hands on an X1 currently (and looking to preorder) this is good info for me to go off of.

    Thoughts?

Both are DJ's using no turntable and therefore have the need for a jogwheel.
The X1 is designed as AddOn Controller, thats its main task.
I know you can use it as for anything with according mappings, but for sure a platter is not the same as a little knob...
I think the X1 is a great addition for DJ'S working with timecode or the new HID devices ... they already have a platter, why they should need a second one?

Both products are direct competitors, both addon controllers.... I'm not sure how Liebing has the jog-wheel assigned but he does not use as vinyl emulation.. he locked in sync. A jog wheel is basically a super (easily assessable) endless knob.

Jogweels are great for browsing and scrolling and loading.

And I think A&H offered them more than NI to use them..

Nah, that's a stupid joke. :( But it doesn't come as a surprise for me that they switched back. Both Chris and Richie are working for so long with this setup that they're really used to it.

What I really found superior on 1ds are faders, as I can simultaneously control 2 effects with dry/wet and still has one hand free for taking out lows on eq or filtering on x92, cant beat that!
