Whenever an ensemble is growing i often need to put different modules/macros together in a new macro.usually i do it like this:

    Create an empty macro
select and copy all the modules/macros to put in.
    Paste into the empty one
    delete the original files

    Well,that`s not very handy imo.

I would love to have a function like this:Select the modules/macros,right click "create (new) macro".done.

Are there some more people thinking the same or am i the only one? :)

by the way:there`s a"wrong"placed smiley but i can`t edit the post. There`s a huge bug in this forum that doesn`t allow me to correct written sentences (before i post them).i allways have to press"reload"then and it goes.At least a bit (for a correction in another word i have to press reload again). But when i want to edit a posted comment this"trick"is not working cause after a reload the text window is gone again. It`s terrible...

    OSX 10.5.8.
    Firefox 3.6.6

    EDIT:

the forum glued my last post together with the first one so it looks kind of senseless now (the part:"can`t edit my post").It was not me :)

    weird...

I've thought exactly the same thing many times. That would be a really useful feature.

Another useful feature would be the inverse - to dissolve a macro i.e. moving a macro's contents into the parent and deleting the original macro.

    definitely +1 for that too!

To spin it a bit further:the in/out connections should keep connected :)

I just do cut instead of copy, at least that way you miss one step.

I agree though, right/control click > selection to new macro would be handy. Not sure the inverse would be as useful for me, though I suppose there's no reason not to have it... apart from ending up with a huge right click menu :)

if this could be done in such a way that all IC send and receives were all maintained, that would be a huge workflow improvement. currently i have some stuff that should be re-arranged, but i don't want to spend an hour reconnecting everything when i'm done.

+1 for this, in addition to the usability improvements here:

-Option to auto-connect up ports with matching names on selected objects/modules/macros.
-When cmd+dragging a wire to a macro to create a new port, it should automatically name the new port after the port it is being connected from.
-Ability to make core stay in debug mode whilst delving in and out of core structures.
