    hi,

i'm using a macbook and external mixer and am having trouble achieving this. could you give me a breakdown of how you configure traktor and what is plugged in where? as far as i can see at the moment both input 1 and 2 on the AF overlap and play on both channels regardless of what i do with the crossfader, and although i can get the headphone output to my mixer's right channel, it still keeps going irrespective of where the crossfader is.

aaaarghh.... help would be much appreciated.

hi, yes - i've got it working. here's what you do:

1 plug an RCA-RCA cable from the two line outputs of your AF into one channel of the mixer - say the left one. you'll need two mono jack-RCA converters to do this.
2 plug a mini jack - RCA cable from the headphone socket of the AF (on the front) into the right channel of the mixer. make sure the headphone volume is turned up to full.
3 plug in the AF to the firewire port on your macbook, and fire up Traktor.
4 in traktor, set the audio device to be the AF and in the routing choose external mixer.
5 route AF outs 1 and 2 to traktor channel A and outs 3 and 4 to traktor channel B.

the converter mentioned in step 1 is here:

    you need two of these.

    have fun!

    Little help

Using Echo Audiofire 4 with Traktor 3.2, headphones connected to the Audiofire.

Okay, I'm having trouble doing something that should be easy. Keeping in mind that I'm an idiot, here's what I want:

To hear ONLY next song in the cue (ie, the song that I'm about to mix in) on my headphones, and the current song solely on the laptop speakers. Like any setup, basically. Obvious advantages.

However, right now the master plays on the laptop speakers (good), but the headphones pick up BOTH the the master and the next song in the cue AT THE SAME TIME. In other words, depending on the position of the crossfader, I'm able to hear the music on BOTH decks on my headphones, and I obviously don't want that.

Like I said, I'm an idiot.

In Traktor, here's where I'm at: Audio Setup > Output Routing > Internal Mixer Mode > Monitor: Left (Audiofire Out 1) and Right (Audiofire Out 2). The remainder (for example, "Master") is all listed as "not connected." I have my soundcard set to Audiofire 4.

Anyone solve this particular problem? Many, many thanks.
