OK, so i've got the Denon HC4500 setup and working with Traktor Pro on a mac but i'm wanting to edit what some of the buttons do.

For instance, buttons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 at the top control hot cues when used with serato - how can i change this to do the same with traktor? I also want to edit the loop buttons and the buttons below the screen too............ is there software to do this or do i edit within tsp?

This was a pdf I made the first day TSP was released to help me map the hc4500. I don't own one anymore.

I listed the buttons ---- the midi command for them as seen by Traktor ---- the values to get the leds to light up.

When you read up and play around with making your own mapping you will find it useful.

I suggest you print out many copies so you can scribble what you want to achieve with your controller layout then work from there.

If you go on the Denon forums there is a member "JJ" who can help you out more.

You edit it inside traktor in the controller manager. The traktor manual tells you how.

You know what? I just remembered that the Hc4500 is natively supported by Traktor now.

This means it will be easier for you to map you controller now than it was for me when I used to have one.

This seems really hard even though what i want seems relatively simple! I'm really stuck here guys! :(

Basically if you look at the controller i'm wanting:

    > Function Key 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to be mapped as Cue Points.
    > Effect 1, 2, 3 to be mapped as fx 1 2 and 3 on/off. The parameter button at the side of this as the wet/dry.
    > TIME button as Sample1, MEMO as Sample2, TITLE as Sample3, CONT/SINGLE as Sample4.
    > FLIP button as 1/2 loop, A1 as 1 loop, A2 as 2 loop, B as 4 loop, EXIT/RELOOP as 8 loop.

    Please please help?

Here's an image of the controller:

Well i seem to have sorted out the cue points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 although the lights aren't lighting up.

    I've also done the loops.

Where are the samples on the software? I thought there were 20?

To do what you want it would be better to start with a fresh mapping.

So far you were able to set hot cues by

    Add in - cues/loops - select/set+store hotcue - deck a - deck a hotcue1- value hotcue 1

    Now do this

    Add out - cues/loops - hotcue1 state - deck a - hotcue1

This should help you out with 'one to one mapping' until you want to add shift functions.

    No samplers yet

Thanks Sweebee, what's the layout of yours? do you have a pic or info of it?

It also isn't showing the text on the denon screen of what songs playing yet either!

Thanks for the help so far guys, appreciated!

the layout is in the zip file.

and my display is working. maybe you have to import the original file first and then the modified mapping?

i'm using mac, not windows. Don't know if it matters.
