is that already implemented? In the Mac version? I have no button to activate that, no preset seems to have that functionality!

What's up with that?

 

Check out the content of the Routing tab in the Audio/MIDI setup window
Then go to File/Options and click on the Surround tab where you should be able to setup your desired output.

thanks for your answer though, I might not understand it.

I get surround output - in standalone and in Logic (AU) - 6 channels, 8 channels - no problem.

what I do not get is the ability to affect the effects distribution in surround - like it is indicated on the screenshot that I linked (http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=absynth4surround_us).

So I have (in standalone set up the MIDI Audio setup) have chosen a 6 channel in Surround tab, but the little yellow indicators in the surround ring (effects page) and the on/off button and the related controls are not there - it always looks like in manual on page 69 and not like on that screenshot.
How to I get that like on the screenshot (http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=absynth4surround_us)?

No, I don't think it's available in the PC version either, afaik both version have the same feature set. But it could be that they've used a future version for that screenshot...

Well, let"s hope for the next update (will be interesting - new sounds, hopefully surround ctrl of the effects, hopefully faster interface, etc.)
