i plan to order 2 as soon as i sell my cdjs. unfortunately as far as i know there are no north american distributors so i'll have to order from them directly.

 

I have orderd 1 for now, and i'll be getting it tomorrow if the mailman does his job, hopfully i'll have time to map it and have it up and running asap, will play with it for a while and se if it does what i think it will, got a pretty good idea of how I want the layout setup

a bit OT: I will set up the Otus for decks A and B and use 1 XP10 for decks C and D using focus to switch between C and D thereby havein all 4 channels out and full controll

 

Hmm... I was under the impression that the Otus was just a conceptual design and not really on sale - seems like I was mistaken.

Interesting design, tons of possibilities, but perhaps a bit pricey. Well, maybe not considering the amount of controls the thing (btw, "the thing" = "otus" in finnish) has. Propably worth consideration some day.

yes 1 otus for now, gotta try it out, so the Otus for main decks A and B, and 1 xp10 for decks C and D using focus to switch inbertween

it is usable atm, but after using it live I need to add some stuff that i feel i need, so ill leava note here when its done if i can remember it

after Otus software installation i find it here :

i did also some mapping changes...

 

Hi folks.

Got my first OTUS today. Looks and feels great!

Loaded the MIDI mapping (tks) but i got some probs!
Set everything like stated on EKS hp. Midi responses to everything in SW BUT when i press play, fast foward or turn the wheel : NOTHING HAPPENS!

Any ideas?

(I´m trying to set up as allinone device for 2 dex at first to check if i like to play with the otus . The plan is to upgrade and play with 2 OTUS and external 4 ch mixer.)

 

I assume as u r posting this in the Traktor Pro forum u r using it, and if thats the case u need to get an TSI setupfile, the TKS files are for Traktor 3, in the post above yours, SonarScope posted the link to where the EKS mappins r lokated on your install(if u made the default that is)

Hi, thanx for the reply.

I did import the right tks for T3 AND tried with my T pro version (which i´m not really using by now beause of the bugs) AS WELL with the accurate tks file! Both are not working!

The reason i´m posting it in this forum is because this is the only OTUS connected thread i found in NI forums.


But there is another thing. I didn´t really notice when the device came yesterday, that BOTH gain knobs are somehow wrecked... ( They should work & feel like the other EQ knobs right? ) The left one does not have it´s "physical mark" in the middle, but at apprx. 2 o`clock! The right one has no "physical mark" at all and can be rotated all around!

So i´m going to change the device, but as i have to send this back to finland it could take some time.

Hopefully they do not start to argue about this one......

 

sorry for buggin u about this, but r u shure u have loaded the TSI file for Traktor Pro, NI changed it in T Pro, and as u r stating u r loading the tks file I just have to know.

well, as the pots might be broken u might have some problem with the unit, as u suggested talk to EKS about it.

And when u where testing, did u have tracks loaded?

U said that in your first post u did have midi in to traktor, have u tryed doin any mapping yourself to se if it is workin? cuz some have said that they have problems when loading premade tks/tsi files and getting no response from Traktor.

Further, if u get Traktor to respond and u have controll over it, but no sound but all is routed right, u might have to go to the Windows sound panel(if u r on windows) and put the volume up on full to "activate" it, why this is nessesary I have no idea, but it makes it work, so

Just wondered how responsive you find the Otus if you're using the platter for scratching?

 

I`m using OSX. I think my settings are ok. ihave midi mapped my UC-33 before nd basicaly know how it works.
Also when i change the Audiooutput in Traktor from the EKS card to the macbook soundcard, the track plays and i hear sound! That´s why i´m thinking it might be a problem also with the OTUS soundcard. That´s also why i didn`t try tp map anything myself, not to waste time with faulty device.

I contacted EKS because of this and the issue with the knobs.
They responded fast and will pick up my device for xchange.

I´ll return to this thread, as soon as i have my new device.

sorry, i play tec and house, but I think that the platter response is good, but I cant give u any feedback that would do u any good
