I have just purchased Mashine Groove Production Studio and I am suffering a problem with the installation.

Does anyone have a clear way of installing this on El Capitan???

Basically, I first installed Machine to Application>Native Instruments. And the plugins appeared to go into my Shared folder. This obviously did not work for the synths etc. On checking Preferences in Native Access, I could see that I probably needed to change this to Application>Native Instruments. I tried moving the folders, but was still getting the 'Could not load 1 or more plugins' error.

So, I uninstalled everything.... And reinstalled this time checking that the Native Access 'Contents Location' in preferences was set to Applications>Native Instruments.

However, this is still not working.

I honestly don't know why it is so difficult in 2016 to

    a) Have a clear set of installation guidelines (and not the ones in the PDF which are clearly out of date)
    b) Why are the 'Contents Location' set differently from the installation folder, knowing full well that this will cause issues.

I'll probably give it one last chance, otherwise it will be going back to the shop and I will never purchase another NI product ever again.

Plugins dont go into shared folder. Factory librarys do. (by default, you can change that)

Plugins should be in MacHD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST (or au)
This is probably why you get "couldnt load.." error.

This is because Maschine library is 8 Gig. KU is ~800 Gig. Most people may want to install this big audio data to an ext HDD, not macHD.

Plus: Did you install everything? Massive has separate installer so has factory library and komplete elements.
Also you should run everything (maschine, massive, reaktor, kontakt) standalone first before you open them as VST.

Thanks. So what you are saying is:

    From the Native Access installer:

First install Massive into Applications>Native Instruments (both application location and content location)
    Second, everything else into MacHD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST

Is it possible just to move folders around? The reason I ask is because I am having to DL everything from Wi-Fi and that is taking an age to keep doing it over and over again

From scrolling around the internet for the past day people have been saying different things.

I really fail to understand why NI have no clearly documented installation procedure for Mac OS; especially El Capitan. If it has been designed as some kind of tedious puzzle for a new user to solve, then they have succeeded with gold stars.

    I choose default install locations.
    Applications to applications folder
    Content to Library/Application support/Native Instruments/..
    Some other content to Shared/..
Wherever the installer wants. I dont change defaults.

After install i move manually some big data. say vintage organs, i move it, open kontakt, show kontakt where vintage organ is, open maschine preferences/library, rescan vintage organs. (browse and show if maschine cannot find)

And also if you dont want to dl over and over because of installation failures, download and install maschine manually from
    https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/update-manager/?search=mas
Native Acces deletes the dmg after install which i dont like.

Thanks Dabb. Much appreciated. Nearly there now...

I ended up installing everything to Applications>Native Instruments. This has work for everything except the Maschine library which can't be found within Maschine. So, if I open up one of the default Anti Blocker.mxprj I get an error of "Error Loading Anti Blocker. Loading Project /Users/S..Anti Blocker.mxprj failed.

Now yesterday this was working, and everything wasn't. I have tried moving the Machine 2 Library to /Users/Shared but I am still getting the error. Do you have any idea on how to fix this?

Thanks for your time and help.
