gmaschine have you read the manual - it will give you a point by point instruction on how to do this.

there is also the knowledge base area of the forum
    - see link below. what you are trying to achieve is simple but a bugger to type unless you are looking at maschine.

    http://www.native-instruments.com/knowledge/categories/Product+Operation+and+Tutorials/Maschine/

ps - have you ran the komplete plugins in standalone ? if not please do. and always unplug maschine when updating.

page 68 is a useful starting point for learning how to tag files on your hard drive.....just search "tagging" in your pdf manual..

    for the komplete plugin problems:

screenshot below - hit the plugins tab and point maschine towards your komplete plugins, then click rescan.

make sure you have ran the plugins in standalone 1st and located all plugin libraries......

i always do - habit from maschine 1.0 - it's always been said......maschine actually tells you to do this as well, you may be the lucky one that it has not affected.

You must unplug it, there is a warning to do so...you could damage it:eek:

@Widow, small detail, it is much better to have libraries and samples on another disc or at least another partition.

If you want to do default installations, there is a way to move folder "My documents" to another location and windows thinks it is still in its default location=C,etc..
    It speeds up loading...

Thanks, I know - programs and libraries are always separated, standard practise for me anyway.

So you might not end up buying products from NI because they also have stuff that you don't want to buy?

I've never unplugged it and I've seen no warning or had anything untoward happen either. I just double click in the update and let it do it's thing. I don't have Maschine running at the time if that's what you mean? But my actual controller itself is perminantly plugged in, I never touch it.

fair play to ya - i have always unplugged on updates/installs just because it tells you.

other than that the bugger stays well and truly plugged

firstly - to clarify other posts - i never install any NI software with the Maschine Controller attached.

secondly after installing/updating any NI software, you have to run the software in Standalone Mode before you use it in Maschine or any DAW you might own.

the is necessary to 'Initialise' the software/update so that the correct pathways to all the bits and pieces are set. to clarify, if you load straight away in Maschine or a DAW, you can be certain that you will get errors because certain things cannot be found.

finally my 2 cents with this soundpack. to be honest, i am a bit disappointed. if NI had released this a year ago, they would have been hip to a trend, now it seems like they are jumping on a band wagon that has passed by.

so.... my advice to NI is, spot the sub genres before people really know they are happening and release the soundpack when everybody is excited about it. don't wait until a load of people are already bored with it.

back to the soundpack itself. i will probably use some of the Drums, but not many of the Synth sounds.

Ill always buy expansions...i can find a use for most things even if it just to jam...but when it comes to tracks i generally only use drums from maschine...

Id love an all instrument expansion...maybe even small, cheaper, FX expansions would be a great idea...fills, ramps, and lifts or something...dub sirens and skanking guitars?

Sometimes $60 is pushing it for something that may be only used for a couple of hits...i think theres money to be made in more specific packs...id love their take on vintage analogs all in one bundle etc

yeah id like this too..sometimes id rather have the instruments instead of the kits and vice versa..itd be great if they did cheaper expansions and maybe even do artist packs too from well known artists such as chemical brothers, aphex twin, armin van burren..etc ..itd be brilliant if you culd capture the feeling and sound of your favourite artist and see one of there tracks as a project in maschine...

i always unplug maschine too when installing any update or driver update especially after the trouble i had when i installed a update for kore and it messed up my maschine hrdware..i was lucky i got it working again but for awhile nothing worked onmaschine no lights nothing it was dead.

I always wait for the half off sale for NI kits or hell you could even wait until the next version upgrade. If it is anything like all of the other NI sampler/content products, it will get included in the main library at some point. All of the Battery soundline kits eventually made it into Battery's library. The Massive and Absynth soundline expansions were eventually included in the software as well.

    yes people :)

i have been asking for an instrument increase and FX increase for some time - i ended up resorting to making my own which is cool but damn time consuming......

the chemical brothers, van burren etc idea would be damn cool if they could do that, although they kinda did with dark pressure - Lawler has been around for ages and that pack of his is pretty cool IMO.

    noooooo problem pal

    glad i could help

agreed, i love the Lawler soundpack. in many ways that is more timeless than some of the others.

lol you type sowari to end your posts everytime, thats funny as...

as for the pack its the worst one they have done... 60 bucks for 320 megs of sounds isnt acceptable... nor are many of their others, the most valuable one was pure platinum or true school if you look at it

they really need to get away from these drums they keep giving us, its just the same old maschine library with some effects added and afew things changed...

    give us some real samples
    ---
    how could you damage it?

unless there is actual firmware in it there is no way you could damage it.

software and your computer files possibly...

Hey, nobody is forcing you to buy the packs remember that, personally i own dark pressure and raw voltage - both are excellent IMO and came with a good mix of sounds that are very inspiring and I don't see them ageing very quickly, mainly because they are not directed at a very specific genre.

IF you don't agree with the pricing or content then there are plenty of places to get samples from if you really need them - remember with the NI packs you are getting a pre tagged and optimised package with maschine instruments (priceless) and massive presets - FWIW I saw yesterday on future loops (i think) a massive preset pack being sold for £23 - just for presets, no maschine instruments, no loops, no hits, no kicks, no patterns, nothing, what this shows is that there is clearly a market.

The concept of whether these packs are good value or not depends on what you want, need or desire to use.

For me it's nice that NI are actually catering for other genres and sub genres even if i don't like them myself.
