Loaded "Electric Vice" (onto my "D" drive). The content is found by the Maschine software, but it tells me I have to register the expansion set. I went to the Service Center, but it claims all my applications/expansions are already registered. It's totally not seeing "Electric Vice". Any ideas how to fix this? I have the latest Service Center and Maschine versions installed. Win7 x64.

I just uninstalled and then reinstalled Electric Vice, this time using the default paths suggested by the installer. Still no luck, the Service Center will not recognize the existence of Electric Vice.

Just uninstalled Service Center then reinstalled Service Center. No change, it still isn't searching for Electric Vice. Submitted a trouble-ticket with NI tech support but haven't heard back.

I just bought Raw Voltage so that I could compare the registration process for it. It behaves the same way as Electric Vice, it's not being shown in the Service Center. This is after opening Maschine and clicking on one of the Raw Voltage kits where I got the message that it needs to be registered. Definitely something weird is going on with the Service Center since it can't find either kit. Just before installing these two kits, I successfully installed and registered Transistor Punch, so I know it's not impossible to get things working on my computer. Has anyone else had this problem?

NI Tech support contacted me... I tried their suggestions but the problem with the Service Center continues. I'm going to have to make a decision soon, return the Maschine packs or gamble that NI will eventually fix the Service Center.

Tech support is giving it some effort, but their latest suggestion had me spending about two hours digging into obscure registry keys and the end result was no improvement.

Interestingly, I found this thread which perfectly matches my experience. The original poster (Mr Mahogany) was attacked for having XP, with posters claiming that the antiquated OS was the source of his problems. Since I'm having the same problem on Win7 it's pretty clear that Mr. Mahogany was correct in that it really boils down to bad code inside the Service Center app, not a problem with the OS configuration.

I found the solution! The icon to launch Service Center has a property page (right click the icon). On the "Compatibility" tab, there's a setting that reads "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP". Make sure that setting is NOT checked. That box was checked on mine, and it wasn't until I unchecked it that the Service Center started working correctly.

Just a heads up. This is also an issue for newer operating systems as well. You must run the Service Center as Administrator.
