Does anyone have experience using guitar rig with an electric violin? I've recently started trying to record tracks with a borrowed electric violin direcetly into my interface, instead of my miccing up acoustic one, because of the bad acoustic conditions of my room. My only problem is it sounds very dry and stale with no added effects....

I've tried adding some reverbs and acoustic presets from guitar rig, but with little success. Any advice?

Acoustic instruments usually have piezo pickups, e.g. acoustic guitar or double bass. It's similar with the violin.

If you want a really good sound, you should use a DI box between your violin and the audio interface:

These L.R.Baggs preamps are said be one of the best. I'm thinking of getting one for my Godin A5 fretless bass, which has a piezo bridge pickup.
