I still don´t get this product very well.

Is it really a standalone mixer? can I just connect my decks and start playing with no computer connected?

When I turn on the Traktor button is the mix happening in the software or in the mixer. I mean is it a real mixer (circuitry) or is this a controller for the Traktor mixer?

It works without a computer. EQ's are full kill isolator style, and the filters work in standalone mode as well.

Yes it works as a stand alone mixer, but as soon as you connect it to a computer it switches to internal mixing in the software.

Oh :( I guess I am sticking to a bunch of cables and "circuit mix" on my regular mixer

As it sits right now, I'm leaning the same way you are. The "you don't like it, then oh well" approach isn't going to pay my bills.

What are you wanting to do with it Jorge? It will work as a standalone mixer as well as work with Traktor. It'll also work one deck cd/vinyl and one deck Traktor if you also needed that. You can switch this by pressing the "Traktor" button on the mixer even during use. It just switches Taktor on your computer to thru mode?

The sound is going to be exactly the same regardless if it's hooked to a computer or not because the Z2's hardware EQ's are emulating the software EQ's. Plus switching between live input, timecode and internal off your computer is as seamless as ever.

I think I would have to give it a try before proceeding on any judgment about the Z2. But so far I have always felt that internal mixing is not as rich as mixing in a real (good) mixer. I very often use my S4 and I don´t feel the mix as robust as when I do in a Xone or the DJM-800/900.
Sincerely if the circuitry of the Z2 is made to exactly emulate the internal mixer in Traktor I feel it is a very heavy piece of hardware for what it could deliver in that specific sense (eq´s) But I guess the wisest thing I can do for now is wait till I can test it somewhere.

Well the EQ's are brand new so it would be wise to listen to it first.
