    Hi everybody,

Here is some info about the upcoming update for Elektrik Piano. This will not just be a Mac Intel update.

The new version will be Elektrik Piano 1.5, and will bring lots of improvements. It will be based on the Kontakt 2 engine, and will feature a new selection of presets that make use of scripting and convolution features, just to name the most important aspects.

The update fee will be $ 29 / 25 Euro for all users, grace period begins September 12, 2006. The update will be free for Komplete 4/KC 2006 owners.

1.5 is currently in final testing and will be released as soon as it is deemed ready. Stay tuned.

    Regards, Thomas

    Thats good news.

I own an excellent MK1 Fender Rhodes 73 for a long time now and although Elektrik Piano MK1 rhodes is good (as well as the extra instruments, wurly etc)I have been crying out for better control of the sound and more versatility in these instruments. Looking forward to hear how it sounds after the improvements as well as having the new features.

    Maybe before end of April?

    keep making killer instruments NI

hmmmmm weren't Komplete 4 and Komplete 2006 users promised free UB updates for all their products?
"If you buy a product listed below now, you will be able to download the Universal Binary Update for free after activating your product (this also applies if your product was activated for the first time after September 12th 2006)
Other registered Mac users will can purchase and download the updates from the NI Online Shop for € 25 / $ 29.

NI KOMPLETE Care 2006 customers and KOMPLETE 4 users can download the relevant updates for free."

Thomas I am assuming when you say all users you do not mean the above?

I might be wrong but maybe the suprise coming up in a couple of days was only telling us that 1.5 was in the pipelines.

I really hope we will see it soon though.

Also: off topic I know but Phon I noticed you have a 'jazzmutant'. How you getting on with it?. I am really interested in it and first saw at trade show in prototype form a couple of years ago.

Oh man, NI´s "couple of days"-politics is getting more and more annoying, each time they practice it...

What, dear NI´s, are "a couple of days"?

Better to take your time testing and iron out any bugs, than release somthing that has problems, will you e-mail us when you are done?

Yes, it would be nice if the reason for the delay was "getting it right"....unfortunatly, "a couple of days" could mean a month or more-that was the case with GR. And trust me, it's far from bulletproof.

This isn't to stir the pot up, it's just that you'd think somehow that they would not say such things when it's not guaranteed.

    Couple of days?

No where in Thomas' email did he say anything about a timeline, except to say 'soon' the 'couple of days comes from another forum user:

"frugalpole: so a couple days was a while ago. what does a couple of days mean? eagerly awaiting."

So, while NI may not always be timely, in this particular instance, in their defense, they are not guilty of anything except announcing that an update is coming out.

This is the only reference made to a release date:
"1.5 is currently in final testing and will be released as soon as it is deemed ready. Stay tuned."

So perhaps being a little more discriminate in who is saying what will avoid misunderstandings.

I too am anxious to see if this update will fix my problems.

I am hoping I have not made anyone angry. I was confused and had to read the thread a few times to see where the confusion came in. It is not my intention to blame or create more upset, just clarify what seemed to get confused...

    Hi all,

please wait for just a couple more days while we prepare a little suprise for you!

    best,

but as another user pointed out, hopefully the couple more days was not for the announcement rather than the product update itself.

Yes, I have a lemur at home right now, only for a limited time though. its from a friend who is away from his studio for a while. lucky me :)

I am still getting my head around the programming part, I am planning to do some custom layouts for several Reaktor 5 instruments. So far I can say, the posibilities are really very cool. only sometimes I miss to really "touch" something because with the lemur you are really moving your fingers over a flat surface all the time, which is not so satisfying "physically" like moving a knob or a fader.

    Cheers Phon,

I know what you meen about having something 'real' to touch rather than onto a screen. Having soid that, the control of the Lemur seems to suit something like Reaktor 5 perfectly from what I have seen of it. (the fact jazzmutant is now in your profile....does that meen your friend might not see it again, Me thinks they might miss it!!)

EP 1.5 a real improvement. Although I would still like to seperate FX for each Instrument though. I put it through Guitar Rig for far more control.
