I have a G5 Mac with dual 1.8 CPU with 2 gigs of RAM. When I play the K2 Emperor FULL+, which is my favorite, I overload the CPU without much trouble with just the piano playing. I maxed the amount of RAM reserved for DFD and the channel buffer size. I put the Audio Engine on strict voice-killing, checked that multi-porcessor support was on and used Standard interpolation.

    Thanks.

OK. So right after I posted this, I found that the module called K2 EMP HARMONICS is the CPU-sucker! I muted it, without any significant loss to the overall sound, and the problem went away...

Maybe this will be helpful to someone else:)

thanks! I got the same problem, and "solved" it by muting Bosendorfer B290 Harmonics.

Has anyone any idea about how fixing this?

    Hi,

The problem is that "Emperor" use an old version of the "harmonic" script. the old version eat CPU.

The soluce : You can try to use the harmonic.nki included in Kontakt 2.1 update for the Steinway D

The script work if you create a seperate emperor rack with dry tones + the script of harmonics.nki
(the script work only for group number 0 to 5)

But my support stop here because the new improved overtone script is licensed and you can't open or modify the script.

    :)

    Regards,

    Olivier
