I just set up the maschine to act as controller for ableton live, but I can´t get the encoders to work like encoders, they act as POTENTIOMETERS.

    Thats fustrating.

If this behavior is normal, than maschine is worthless as controller, because every value jumps if encoders are moved after another value is changed.

    Am I missing something here?

Please could somebody tell me to make the encoders behave like encoders (btw fetching of values would be NO SOLUTION)?

    thanks

Just tried the mackie control template:

    SAME PROBLEM!

When I load the mcu template (both maschine and ableton) and turn a encoder the assigned parameter JUMPS on the first tweak!

Since I owned a mackie control once, I do definitive know that this behavior is not normal.
    Nothing jumps on the MCU.

Seems like values are not updated correctly by midi feedback.

    Can somebody help?

    EDIT:

I found a solution for me working in MCU mode:
..basically by changing the encoders behavior from "MCU Channel" to "MCU V-Pot" and then flip. That makes the movement relative rather then absolute (like a normal potentiometer).
Because of the MCU having motorfaders these values are absolute, but in case of encoders that makes no sense.
One of the great features of the MCU is the flip key, so all motorfaders can be flipped (assigned) to the v-pots.
..and this is useful here (by adding a flip key to maschine (NOTE D2, channel 1, Gate, Value 127).

    EDIT 2:

You can even mix 2 or more controllers in Live by selecting MCU on the first control selection entries and then MASCHINE on the second for example with the same input- output settings.
This is very useful if you wish to control ableton with the Maschine-ableton-template but to mix sound with the (better) MCU - style relative encoders.
