I'm trying to set a rotary encoder to scroll up/down my music once a folder is open. It works fine however it stops at the 0 and 9 points and doesn't go any further (therefore isn't endless).

How do I set an endless encoder to be just that endless?

I have a Kenton Killamix (http://www.kentonuk.com/kenton/killamix/killamix.html) although I imagine my problem isn't controller specific.

    Any ideas?

It is unfortunately the controller and the messages it sends and how Traktor handles those messages. I have the same controller and although the rotaries turn without end they do not give a signal that allows endless relative messages that Traktor can translate successfully. There different relative settings for the Killamix and in Traktor, but no combination works correctly. I've looked at the messages sent with Midi Ox to see how it differs from my other controller that does work. A translator may be the answer, but I haven't looked into that yet.

    argh damn thats a bummer.

I'm not using the joystick and last rotary/button (hence trying to use that one to scroll through the music folder).

I'm interested to know how you've got your killamix controller mapped?

    mine is set:
rotaries 1-4 control FX 1 parameters, rotaries 5-8 control FX 2 parameter.
buttons 1-4 control deck 1 effect on/off, loop on/off and loop up then loop down (4-8 buttons the same for deck 2).

Pretty much the same mapping except I use a rotary for loop size.
I tried mapping the joystick to the browser, but it's either too sensitive or too slow through the list. The joystick is fun to map to effects, especially gater.

cool think I might give that go (joystick on gater).

I asked Kenton about the endless rotaries and got the following response::

The endless encoder sends controller messages which by definition have a
minimum and maximum value (between 0 and 127)

However some pieces of software implement "Incremental" controllers - in
other words the controller just says up or down (so then the knobs
    really can be endless).

However Incremental controllers are not defined in the MIDI
specification, hence different companies implement them in different
ways (if at all) - the Killamix Mini supports several of the common ones
    (see the manual).

If Traktor supports any of those types, then set Traktor to use
"Incremental" controllers and enable that mode in the Killamix Mini.

If it uses another system, we may be able to add it to the already
supported methods - I suspect that it might use the Ableton type if it
    does at all.

so how do I find out what sort of midi Traktor supports?
