EP 1.5 in Live 6.07 (PC)

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone has managed to get Elektrik Piano 1.5 (PC VST) to work in Live 6.07. Every time I try it, Live just hangs when it scans the VSTs...then next time I start Live, it automatically disables it.

Anyone managed to get it working?

I haven't installed 6.0.7 yet. I'll do that later and see if I have any problems.

I still haven't installed 6.0.7; sorry. I had things to do.
However, the 1.5 update scans and loads fine in 6.0.5 here; I'll still install 6.0.7 later and see if it stays the same.

If Live crashes once while scanning, it'll always crash or disable the plugin until you trash Live's preferences.cfg. Here's what I'd do;

Run the 1.5 update as a standalone (I'm betting you didn't before trying to use it in Live).

Now, turn on "show hidden files and folders" in your Windows view menu. Go to Documents and Settings/*your user account*/Application Data/Ableton/Live 6.0.7/Preferences and delete the preferences.cfg you find there.

Reboot your machine and start Live. Reset your plugin folder and rescan.

You were right on the money there - I hadn't tried the standalone version first!

I've done exactly as you suggested and Live has sorted itself out now...works fine.
