EP1.5 preset but no sample attached

Hi,

I have installed 1.5 a number of times and tried to move the sample folder parallel to the 1.1 version and other places so that the ep synth would not only load the preset but the sample also!

My 1.1 version is working fine.

Help please

 

When you install 1.5, use the same folder for the library that 1.1 uses. That's the default for that very reason.

I'm trying to remember whether I had to navigate to the old folder or whether it chose the old folder as the default.

Since there's only one library path and not separate paths for samples and instruments, and considering 1.5 uses the samples from 1.1 (as explained here), the only place you really can put your library is in the old EP library folder.

Actually, everything kind of worked automatically - the installer defaulted to the EP folder in my applications folder, and there was never any choice about where to put the library. I opened EP as a plugin in Protools 7.3 and everything seemed to work right out of the box.

I don't usually have such good update mojo. Must be my lucky day.

 

My samples for EP1.1 are on another drive, i tried to rearrange once more my samples files, my 1.1 still work but the 1.5 won't load the samples, but presets only.

I even erase and reinstalled once again and made sure it was in the same folder

 

I'm having the same problem.

I just got Komplete 4 as an update for 3. I had EP1 installed and working just fine with the samples on another drive. Now EP i.5 is registered and if the sample directory c/programfiles/native instruments is used the names show up and the instrument appears to play but there's no sound. If I set the directory to my alternate drive, which should be the correct one, it doesn't even have the names and I get an error message. V 1 still works and I'm able to load the instruments in Kontakt 2.

 

The screenshot of an EP library folder in the following thread shows what I think EP expects, in both OSX and XP, in order to see everything it needs; importantly, both sample databases and preset folders in the same parent folder. If your install/upgrade has not achieved this for some reason, if you can track down where everything is, move everything to the same folder, point EP at it in 'options', it should be happy. The example shown happens to be on an external FW drive, but has been moved several times post install without problems. Where it is doesn't matter to EP, as long as it knows; the hierarchy within it does matter.
