EQ when in external mode...

But will such a feature come? Are there any plans for it for a next version?

but -1 to line faders, crossfader etc. this is done by external mixer

YES to line faders. More ability to tweak is the point. If you dont use it then its not a problem. I like to be able to drive the Rane mixer (without Gains) and lower the individual Channel level in the software.

That works for me.

 

You already have a gain in Traktor that is working in external Mode, I think you don't need this twice.

 

Yes but it is set by track analysis. I use the ability too use line faders for software control when a track has quiet section when there are no gain controls on the hardware mixer like the Rane Installation mixer i 'have' to use at 2 of my gigs.
Simple, if you dont need it dont use it but dont take the option from those that do. It worked just fine in T3.4 it can work just fine again in Pro.

 

Hm, I see it from a technical view.
The gain and the EQ belong to a channel section (pre fader).
The faders, crossfaders and master belong to a mixing section.
I think that these "mixing section" will require additional resources, also it is not used in many (most) cases.

 

Technically i agree. But if your familiar with how this works on T3.4 it just gives me more control, more options when using mixers that are simply not that good which in the case of many clubs (high street) is pretty common.

There are a lot of request about re-enable eq on external mode, NI has no answer to us yet so if you agree lets retake the technical point of view about this thread. The following are my reasons...

1.-Traktor's eq ere excellent, and we have 4 different eq types (in hardware you can't switch between eq types).

2.-Sometimes the traktor's eq sound better tha hardware (in my case, i feel that traktor eq are better than my korg kaos mixer)

3.-traktor's eq are before a master limiter, if used with knowledage this limiter helps to have more control of the outgoing voltage

4.-To use 2 eq,s one internal and one external is not an strange thing, external eq can be used for general sound balance (and leve it fixed on a setup after sound check) and internal eq for dj mixing.

5.-I don't understand why eq in external mode is confusing, give us technical reasons

check the traktor on the record threads. there has been an answer. btw, this is the user forum, not the NI support. third, i support this request and have already forwarded it to NI.

 

The thing is this thread has continued to grow 'since' the answer in On The Record because, to be honest, the answer was not sufficient.
To say that a vital feature was removed because users were confused about it is crazy talk. If that was the case NI would remove Beat Gridding because no other feature confuses people as much as that.

The 'invisble' components are only confusing if people dont read the manual. This isnt gonna go away.
I have laid out various good reasons for having this feature that are real and practical (so have others). Ive yet to hear anything practical that convinces me that this feature should have been removed. Key word is removed cus it was great in T3.

I have suggested the 3rd option to Support and Ive also voted for your request N_G.

 

I think the NI crowd need to be reading some of this, it should be a fairly simple affair to achieve this but the usability this would add would be unbelievable

 

since it's a similar request to one i made in a recent thread I'll add it here too.
add an effect for 3-band isolator.

I think I'd even be happy for a quick fix Effect on the low kills, as in have it take up a slot on the Chained FX, set to 100%, hit the On Button...

 

I am new to Traktor Pro. Never used the other versions. I love mixing with my rotary Rane and am very disappointed to find out that I can't use Traktor's fabulous EQs. It is a huge deal for me. Thanks.

that's a good point, somehow ironic, considering they mess up parts of our workflow and the way they handle our files every new update...

what provides more confussion..?
